Provider of maternal-fetal, newborn and pediatric subspecialty physician services with multiple locations.
DIRECTOR CLINICAL SYSTEMS
Implemented and supported a proprietary Clinical Information System in approximately 300 Neonatal
Intensive Care Units (NICUs) across the United States. The initial 150 sites were subsequently converted to
a newer system. Educated end-users (clinicians) in effective use of systems features in addition to
managing a team consisting of Support Analysts, User Testing and Implementation/Education Specialists.
Participated in the development and testing cycles for both systems, building/implementing about 2 new
versions per year for the last 17 years. Directed the implementation of over 250 interfaces between our
Clinical Information System and hospital systems, including Lab, ADT, and Note interfaces.
Provides leadership and direction for all aspects of the hospital based clinical information systems
specific to operations, clinical, support, and training.
Direct a team of 4 implementation/education specialists, 2 support analysts, interface manager, user
testing manager, and 4 user testing specialists.
Present updates to other departments such as coding and IS as well as giving presentations at
physician CQI meetings for different regions of the country.
Works with IT management to ensure that the access control, disaster recovery, and business
continuity needs of the organization are properly addressed.
Conducts weekly interdepartmental status, planning, and support meetings.
Improved efficiency and ability to develop by moving to newer Clinical Information System with
separate modules in the system for greater flexibility through system implementation.
Successfully put into place all projects within time and budget constraints.
