Chinmaya Family Program

At Holland Park State High School,

Bapaume Rd, Holland Park (take Gaza/ Marshall Rd exit from M1)

This program is designed so that the entire family can benefit at one time. Learning and praying together in
the same environment will keep the family together in all situations. The classes focus on developing
positive values of honesty, faith, courage, sharing, respect and care for all creatures, a love of learning and
team playing and are based on ancient texts (Bhagavad Geeta, Upanashids, Bhaja Govindam), epics
(Ramayan and Mahabharata) and Puranas. Chinmaya Mission has designed a curriculum specifically for
the different age groups. As a part of these classes, all students also learn chanting, Hindu symbolism and
culture.

These Spiritual and Well-being Classes are conducted
for Children, Teenagers, Youth and Parents/ Adults

Junior Balavihar (4-8 yrs, Grade K-3)
Children learn about the Alphabet of Values, Bala Ramayan and concepts of faith and values are conveyed
through fun activities and stories.

Senior Balavihar (9-12 yrs, Grade 4 -7)
Children explore concepts of values, faith, goal setting etc through structured activities, stories, role-play by
learning texts such as Symbolism in Hinduism, P.O.Box Mr God and My 24 Teachers.

Junior CHYKs (13-17 years, Grade 8-12)
Harnessing youth potential through dynamic spirituality!! provide an opportunity for teenagers to discuss
and interact on issues such as peer pressure, love, emotions, how to achieve goals and understand the
purpose of life. It also provides teenagers with a sense of belonging and pride in their culture and enables
them to make correct decisions in life and become dynamic, content, independent youth of integrity.

CHYKs (18-35 years)
The Chinmaya Yuva Kendra youth discuss texts such as Art of Man-Making wherein the group takes up
each topic in the book, discusses it freely, thus churning their own understanding in ways limited by nothing.
The syllabus for the CHYKs is designed keeping the youth psychology in mind.

Adult Geeta study group
Parents / Adults discuss the Geeta through a structured program of video lectures and discussions.
