calculations of the departmental developmental fund generated from M.Com

newly established Department and for its smooth functioning it was consensually
decided that Rs 30,000 -/ should be given from the Departmental Development
fund and Rs 1,30,000 -/ from the Computer fund and in this way Total amount of
Rs 1,60,000 -/ should be transferred from DBA to Commerce Department

issued on dated 03-05-2006. The Name of Mr.Muhammad Intesar Atif on serial No

Minutes of Departmental Discipline Committee
A special meeting was held of the members of Departmental Discipline Committee
on dated 08-05-2006 regarding taking action against the absentness students who
have less than 50% attendance during the pervious month of April 2006 in any
class/period. It was consensual decided that they should be struck of from the roll
and their admission should be cancelled as per the university rules. In this
connection each teacher will be requested to submit the list of absentness students
and forwarded to the chairman ofce for issuing order for the cancellation of their
admission.

1.It is submitted for your kind information that on 29-04-2006 there was an
English Debate which was arranged by the Director of Students Afair in
connection with the students week and the debate starting time was 11:00
AM therefore, students were directed to participate in the English debate.

2.It is also humbly submitted that our evening classes are being held after 1:00
PM because the bus take starts from city at 12:00 noon and reaches to the
new campus at 12:50 PM therefore how it is possible to start the evening

students response, therefore, the statement of the students given to the Dean
is baseless. This fact can also be verifed from the transport section

After going through the huge amount of telephone bill for the month of April 2006
for the ofcial telephone No 750220, i express my displeasure to you as it is
slackness on your part in your duties and non proper vigilance in the ofcial
matters.
You are directed to be alert and take care in the ofcial matters. Ensure your
presence in the ofce and should have tight control on the use of ofcial telephone.
It is also to clearly communicate you that if the same situation prevails in the next
month excessive billing amount will be deducted from your salary.
It is also matter of concern that due to longer discussions on the telephone we
could not attend the important calls as in busy tone no call can be received.
Specially recently we have received this complaint from IBP Karachi and Peshawar

2.One post of lecturer having the Similar Qualifcation of the above mentioned
two teachers has already been advertised and we are waiting for regular
appointees.
3.These teachers are teaching computer oriented subjects to the students and
they are also looking after the computer lab. Which is equipped with thirty
(30) computers while ten computers are also being used by the faculty
members. In this way these teachers are taking care of all the computers.
Apart from 40 Computers we have also one multimedia, one projector, one
CD writer, Net Meeting facility, Digital Library facility and other use of
computer in helping the academic activities. These teachers are also helpful
in the ofce computerization, digital communication and in assisting the
internship and placement facilities being provided to the MBA students.
During the summer vacations they have to make repair and maintenance of
all the computers, reinstallation of diferent Software and Hardware and also
they have to work for ofce automation, therefore, it is humbly requested that
their employment period may be extended up till the selection board/new
appointees and they may allowed to work in the summer vacations as per
previous practice.
4.It is submitted for your information that we have given two peons working
against self fnance funds to the Commerce Department on temporary basis
due to the shortage of permanent peons in the Department. It is also
suggested that either two peons from the university man power pool may be
given to them or the existing peons may be given permanent status.
5.In the Department two clerks are working against the Self Finance program
and their period is also being expired up to the start of summer vacation.
while presently in the Department no librarian, library clerk and library peon
is given by the university since longer period of time despite of its availability
in the Departmental man power budget, therefore, we have made
arrangements to take work from these clerks, it is recommended that we
should be given the permanent budgeted staf for the library or these two
clerks may be given the extension in his service period for further six months.
6.There is an other junior clerk Mr. Rashid who is working in the Department
on contract basis and has also been given the time up till summer vacation.
As we have also given the one clerk to commerce Department (Apart from two
peons) therefore, we are in dire need of an other clerk for running the
Departmental ofce smoothly therefore it is recommended the services of Mr.
Rashid (who is working presently on contract basis) may be given the
permanent status or extension in his service period for further six months
may be granted from the start of summer vacation to on ward.

It is submitted for your kind information that very fruitful and productive
discussion was held with Dr. Nasir Ali Khan Director Institute of Management
Sciences (IMS) Peshawar at the occasion of Seminar held in the University on 10

June 2006. During discussion it was highlighted that IMS Peshawar is playing a

In this connection it was decided that the collaborative proposal may be initiated by
the undersigned for further persuasion. Keeping in view of the emerging trends,
Benchmarking challenges and delivering of quality education to the Business
graduate through the sharing resources of both institutes, Proposal is submitted for
further consideration please.
RATIONALE
IMS Peshawar is ofering many degree Programs in the feld of Business
Administration & Management i.e. MBA, BBA, MPHA apart from computer oriented
programs at Graduate and Post Graduate level. Their faculty members are not only
highly qualifed but also prominent scholars. On the other hand Department of
Business Administration Gomal University is also ofering diferent Business driven
programs at the same level. In addition, the Department is also ofering the MBA
(Banking & Finance) Program with the collaboration of Institute of Bankers
Pakistan under the arrangements of MOU. In our Department fourteen faculty
members who have the broad vision and majority of them have more than 15 years
teaching experience at their credit. In this way both Institutes have considerable
strength on their Part therefore; mutual collaboration for the utilization of
resources, academic linkage the learning and teaching experience can be made
more lucrative.

As you are well aware that Higher Education Commission has designed Medium
Term Development Frame Work 2005-2010 and has given the comprehensive
measures to be taken by the Higher Seats of Learning for assuring quality
education. However, Keeping in view of the working climate / Academic Culture and
Resources Constraints of Gomal University following points and suggestions may be
considered particularly by the Departments of faculty of Arts.
1.Need For Awareness about Quality Education
There is dire need for awareness about the quality education among the
teachers/students and other working personnel in the university therefore, it
is suggested that Seminars may be arranged for teachers/students and other
relevant work force. Lectures may be delivered from the teachers working in
the Arts Department of the University the Faculty members of Business
Admn , Public Administration ,IER and Commerce Department of this
University may also deliver lectures and external training institute like NPO
(National Productivity Organization ) e.t.c. may also be contacted.
2.In Take Quality
Keeping in view of the admission criteria of the students, only past academic
achievements are preferred while we may also give weightage to the test and
interview. In this connection this university may take the services of any
Professional institute so that credibility and merit
base decisions in admission could be made. As it is being practiced in Medical
and Engineering Universities. Test fee may be charged from the students.
3.Subscription Of Foreign Journals And Strengthening The Libraries
It has been observed that in the departments of the faculty of arts no foreign
journal, professional magazine and periodical is subscribed therefore, to meet
the requirements of
Bench Marking, if feasible some foreign journals may be subscribed and its
paging services may be provided to the relevant department and these journals
may be shared by all the Arts departments.
4.Positive Attitude Building
It is also suggested that eforts should be made towards the positive attitude
building and personality development of the students of Faculty of Arts as this is
the basic requirements for the successful manager practitioner and professional.
For this purpose it is suggested that lectures on the attitude building working
behavior, institutional development, motivation etc may be delivered by the
experts in the existing departments of the University. In this way through the
utilization of services/skill and talent of available scholars of the Gomal
University we can move towards the accomplishment of this objective.
5.Good Governance And The Role Of Faculty Of Arts.
As good Governance is also vital aspect of quality education therefore, it is also
suggested that with the mutual eforts of faculty of Arts workshop may be
arranged for promoting excellence in learning and research at the university. In
these workshops heads of the academic sections, nominees of the academic
section and other personnel relevant to academic Planning and execution may be
invited and full awareness could be given to them about the Higher Education
Management and strategies for achieving the goal of quality Management.
Relevant Department of University can manage such type of Work shop and local
faculty members can easily deliver lectures to them.
1.Research is the other key infuencing factor of quality education therefore; it
may be considered that collaborative eforts of the faculty of arts may be
made for joint research studies/project for producing market based research.
2.As Universities are considered as engines for the socio economic development
therefore, the university linkage with the community, industry may also be

Respected Sir,
It is submitted for your kind information that presently this Department has one
Multimedia/Data Show for the use of class rooms specially for the program of MBA
(B & F). Earlier we used to borrow one multimedia from ICIT Department. Now due
to their heavy work load they are unable to provide the required facility. We are
running two master programs in Business Administration and Banking Finance
and multimedia is being used in the class rooms by the teachers and presentation
by the students. This equipment is also used in the viva voce
examination/Seminars and other diferent Departmental brain storming sessions
Therefore, we are in dire need of two multimedia for the Department

The cost of one multimedia may be paid by the Departmental Computer funds
generated form the students while the other multimedia may be purchased from

of the Departmental Self Finance funds kept by the Finance section.
The estimated cost of one multimedia is up to the Rs 82,000 /- (Eighty two
thousand only) recently purchased by the purchase committee.

Students placement was not arranged in time by Mr.Kamran, Incharge IBP Local
ofce Peshawar.
The students faced a lot of problems because of the IBP mismanagements
contacted him personally while he was using delaying tactics.
The so called placement was not accepted by the Branches Managers of the Banks.
They were asking approval from relevant Bank Head Ofces.
I repeatedly called the attention of Mr.Kamran regarding the approval of relevant
Bank and Ofces. However he was not taking interest and problems drastically
delayed.

When students had not seen the Banking Operations for what they will attend the
seminars. Those who attended the seminars, they showed their reservation before
Mr.Kamran and he suspected the students are mis behaving. So this was the
reason and he failed the students.
Secondly Mr.Kamran openly instigating the students to do diploma in Banking and
looking down the present degrees status of the students. For this students reacted
and did not followed Mr.Kamran

With great honor it is stated that this Department is facing a great problem
regarding in Internal Marks submission to the Examinations Section.This Problem
has already been discussed on the foor of Deans Committee meeting held on

The case was briefy rsented by the Chairman DBA,on the forum of the meeting to
fnd out the solution for existing problem of granting degree to the student whose
Internal Marks were not sent by trhe Teacher Concern on some sound reasons that
push the problem on the part of the student,where both the Teachers and Students
are equally responsible for the breach by not disclosing the status of the student for
