Lousa Coimbra Portugal Exhibition International Surrealism Now Historic Building

Oct. 11, 2014 to inaugurate the Palace of Lous a historic building from the 18th
century.
Coimbra, Portugal, September 08, 2014 -- The next edition of the International S
urrealism Now will be hosted in the Historic building of the 18th century Palaci
o da Lous.
International Surrealism Now is a project by the surrealist painter Santiago Rib
eiro, who has dedicated himself to promoting the surrealism of the 21st century,
through exhibitions worldwide.
The "International Surrealism Now" began in 2010 in Coimbra, when Santiago Ribei
ro conceived a major exhibition organized by Bissaya Barreto Foundation. This ev
ent has been in Conmbriga celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Monographic Mus
eum (second most visited museum in Portugal). The show has also been in Paris wi
th the support of GAPP - Art Gallery Portugal Presente and Liba WS, organized on
ce again by the Bissaya Barreto Foundation and Santiago Ribeiro, and in Madrid w
ith the support of Yamal Din. After that it went to Dallas with the support of t
he american surrealist artist Shahla Rosa.
Lately it has been presented at the medieval Castle of Pao da Ega, organized by R
ede de Bibliotecas and House Mayor of Condeixa-a-Nova and at gallery Vieira Port
uesense located in the center of the city of Porto's second largest city of Port
ugal.
At present, the "International Surrealism Now" includes artists from 28 countrie
s: Australia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Spain,
USA, Philippines, France, Holland, Indonesia, England, Iran, Iceland , Italy, J
apan, Mexico, New Zealand, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Ukraine, V
ietnam.
The exhibition consists of a variety of artworks including drawing, painting, ph
otography, digital art and sculpture.
