"Implementing, Serving, and Using Cloud Storage" SNIA-OCT2010
Cloud computing is not a new technology, but rather, a new business model that encompasses a set of technologiessuch as server virtualizationthat reduce the cost of using information technology (IT) resources. Cloud computing takes advantage of Web-based mechanisms that allow scalable, virtualized IT resources to be provided as a service over a network. When virtualized storage is available on demand over a network, organizations are not required to buy or provision storage capacity before storing data. As a result, organizations can save a significant amount of money on storage costs because they typically only pay for the storage that they actually use.
Deepanshu Madan, "E-learning based on Cloud Computing" Volume 2, Issue 2, February 2012 International Journal of Advanced Research in Computer Science and Software Engineering. In this e-learning cloud model, data storage is highly distributed, data management is highly centralized and data service is highly virtualized, all of which offer a much safer data service. E-leaning cloud environment provides large data center with mass data storage, high-speed computation. This architecture for the cloud platform provides a variety of user interface forms, such as WebService interfaces, Java interfaces, C interfaces, Shell interface etc . Cloud computing platform provide resources services to teachers and students in the form of rental. A module is designed to which is based on the consumption billing to ensure that users only pay for the resources they have used.
Xiao Laisheng, "Cloud Computing: A New Business Paradigm for E-learning " Measuring Technology and Mechatronics Automation (ICMTMA), 2011 Third International Conference on (Volume:1 ) In this paper, they introduced cloud computing to e-learning, built an e-learning cloud, and made an active research and exploration for it from the following aspects: its work mode, architecture, construction method, external interface with the business model, challenges and solutions etc. Their results suggest that the introduction of cloud computing into e-learning is feasible and it can greatly improve the efficiency of investment and the power of management, which can make e-learning system development into a virtuous circle and achieve a win-win situation for suppliers and customers.
Bo Dong," An E-learning Ecosystem Based on Cloud Computing Infrastructure" Advanced Learning Technologies, 2009. ICALT 2009. Ninth IEEE International Conference An e-learning ecosystem is the next generation e-learning. However, the current models of e-learning ecosystems lack the support of underlying infrastructures, which can dynamically allocate the required computation and storage resources for e-learning ecosystems. Cloud computing is a promising infrastructure which provides computation and storage resources as services. Hence, this paper introduces Cloud computing into an e-learning ecosystem as its infrastructure. Cloud computing infrastructure and related mechanisms allow for the stability, equilibrium, efficient resource use, and sustainability of an e-learning ecosystem.
Wenying Zeng, " Research on cloud storage architecture and key technologies" ICIS '09 Proceedings of the 2nd International Conference on Interaction Sciences: Information Technology, Culture and Human
proposes a general architecture of cloud storage system, analyzes the functions of the components, and discusses the key technologies. Cloud storage is a novel storage service mode which the service providers supply storage capacities and data storage services through the Internet to the clients; meanwhile, the clients needn't know the details and lowered structures and mechanisms. The proposed architecture of cloud storage is layered and cooperative, and the discussed key technologies involve deployment, storage virtualization, data organization, migration, security.
