present a Seminar Talk.
Introduction:
JNTU Hyderabad established a Computer Center in
1985 with the support from UGC to cater to the needs of
computing of various departments. In 1989, to promote Post
Graduate studies, a Department of Computer Science was
started under IPGSR (Institute of Post Graduate Studies &
Research). In early 2001 the impact of Information Technology
was felt in every corner of the globe. This led to the formulation
of an exclusive institute for Computer Science and Information
Technology, the present School of Information Technology
(SIT), with a vision to promote Knowledge and Technology
transfer in Information and communication technology related
areas promoting excellence in IT Pedagogy, Software
Consultancy, and establishment of an R & D base in Computer
Science and IT related education sectors are the aims of the
school.
The Training Programme will:
Provide dissemination of the Knowledge of geospatial
technologies.
Provide opportunities for teachers in service, to exchange
experience with their peers and to mutually learn from each
other;
Provide a forum for serving teachers to keep themselves
abreast of the latest advances in Digital Image Processing.
Create the culture of learning and self improvement among
the teachers;
Provide opportunities to further widen their knowledge and
to pursue research studies, and
Give an introduction to new methods and innovations in
higher education and enlighten them so that the
participants can in turn develop their own innovative
methods of instruction.
During the current academic year 2013-2014, a two-weeks
Training Programme on DIGITAL IMAGE PROCESSING
OF REMOTELY SENSED DATA is proposed to be
organized during 16
th
to 28
th
September, 2013, in the campus
of JNT University Hyderabad. The number of participants is
limited to a maximum of 40, and the selection will be based on
the priority of first -come-first-serve.
Eligibility:
Lecturers working in the Universities and Colleges, who
are included in the list of Colleges under Section 2(f) of the
UGC Act, even though they may not yet be fit under 12-B
of the UGC Act, are eligible to participate in the Training
Programme. The teachers of colleges, which do not yet
come within the purview of Section 2(f), but have been
affiliated to a University for atleast 5 years, are eligible to
participate in the Course.
