I. A. Introduction
The English word masturbation was introduced in the 18th century, based
on the Latin verb masturbari, alongside the more technical and slightly earlier onanism. The
Latin verb masturbari is of uncertain origin. Suggested derivations include an unattested
word for "penis", *mazdo, cognate with Greekmzea, "genitals", or alternatively a
corruption of an unattested *manustuprare ("to defile with the hand"), by association with
turbare "to disturb". There is a wide array of more recent slang synonyms, among the most
notable being to jerk off (1896) and wank (1948).While masturbation is the formal word for
this practice, many other expressions are in common use. Terms such as playing with you,
pleasuring oneself and slang such as wankingand jerking offare common. Self-abuse and
self-pollution were common in early modern times and are still found in modern dictionaries.
A large variety of other euphemisms and dysphemisms exist which describe masturbation.
Masturbation or autoerotism is any kind of sexual self-stimulation that leads to erotic
arousal. Orgasm is a frequent though not necessarily results. Masturbation is common
sexual activity among males and females; most studies show that 90% of males and sixty
percent of females at some point during their life. Masturbation is one of the quickest, most
successful methods for many females to attain orgasm.
Despite myths and fallacies that have developed over the years regarding
masturbations ill effects on physical and mental health, it is a normal sexual activity ;indeed,
its a useful means of developing ones sexual capacities. Young children, adolescents, and
young and old adults often alike engage to masturbatory activities. Mental health
professionals discourage its practice only when it becomes the sole sexual outlet despite the
ready availability of other outlets when it is accompanied by excessive feelings of disgust,
shame or guilt.

II. Review of related literature

Most studies and literatures on masturbation would point that it would too much
lustful and by religion it is a sin most likely for Catholics. Most effects of masturbation
were said harmful to health and most of people nowadays consider masturbation is a
sin for people who do this thing. This literature would clarify studies regarding the
questions on masturbation to build up thoughts with basis.
Whoever has never had a lustful thought, be the first to say yes. How do we deal
with such thoughts? In the light of Matt.
5:28, believers seem to be walking a tight rope everyday of their lives. But we believe
lust is a very much misunderstood word and concept. It is precisely such a
misunderstanding that caused Christians in the past to seclude themselves
misunderstanding still prohibits Catholic priests from marrying. And it is this
misunderstanding that leaves believers with the condemnation that they commit
adultery every day of their lives. To living in caves a part from civilization. For us
masturbation is just an act of sexual pleasuring and doesnt violate the law of the
church.
People masturbate for a number of reasons. Teenagers have a high sex drive and
may need to get off frequently. Some people won't or can't get a partner, so they
masturbate instead. And sometimes when people are bored, masturbation is just
something to pass the time.
There are urban myths about strange side effects (hairy palms, blindness, loss of
fertility etc) but they were always just myths and have been proven untrue.
Just make sure that you clean up afterwards and that you hygenically dispose of the
Kleenex or the like that you used.
There are no side effects of the masturbation unless you do it in excess i.e, 3 to 4
times a day. Control it to only once a week. If you do it a lot then you may suffer from
muscular weekness+neuro related disorders+lack of confidence+poor concentration
etc.
Years ago when sex wasn't talked about much (and even to this day some people
don't believe in masturbation and feel it's evil and lustful) someone would say, "If you
do that, you'll go blind" simply to scare the person and have them stop what they
were doing. Masturbation is normal and relief system for most men and some
women, but if it interferes with your life and you're making it your major entertainment
then you need to get a life.
Masturbation is the same as having sex. Instead of ejaculating into the partner's
body, you use your hand to stimulate the penis and achieve orgasm. In effect, the
side effects of masturbation are the same as the side effects of having sex.
