Installation

The word templates are available in both A4 and US letter size formats. The installation includes GT
ribbon, templates and translation files and will install in the default Word user templates directory
(typically C:\Documents and Settings\ user name \Application Data\Microsoft\Templates in
Windows XP; C:\Users\ user name \AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates in Windows 7).
Pre-requisites: Prior to installing the templates, download and install Microsoft .NET
Framework 4


Close all instances of Word before installation. Follow the instructions in the setup wizard:

Limitations: These templates are designed and tested only for 32-bit version of Word 2010. GTI will
not produce templates for 64-bit version as part of this project.

Installation for non-English languages
By default the installer installs the templates in the English language folder templates (typically
C:\Users\ user name \AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates in Windows 7). In order to get the
templates to work on machines with non-English language packs:

Identify the name of templates in your language (for example, plantillas in Spanish). This can be
done by looking at the registry entry for
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Common\General\Templates
To this folder, copy *.dotm, Offices.txt, and GT Word AddIn Resources.xlsx from
templates folder

Troubleshooting tips
Please try the following if after installation you are unable to get the templates to work.
Check version of Microsoft Access Database Engine installed. Delete any previous versions. Only
Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 Redistributable should be present.

Add the path to the templates folder to your trusted locations (File -> Options -> Trust Center ->
Trust Center Settings -> Trusted Locations)

Localisation

Logo and Footer Customisation
The logo and footer can be customised for all the templates. To access the admin screen open the
templates in edit mode:
From the user templates directory, right click the template and select open:


The Grant Thornton Ribbon will contain Admin option:

Logo, Footer and Language are customisable from the admin screen:

Translations
Ribbon commands, input boxes and error messages are all customisable using the translations file. The
translations are located in GT Word AddIn Resources.xlsx located in the same directory that the
templates are installed. Close all instances of Word before starting the translation process.

Only change the Column B for your translations. Please do not make any changes to Column A.

Offices list
Some templates have the option of selecting an Office name from the dropdown list. The entries in
this list can be customised in office.txt file in the templates folder.
