This Security Leaflet aims to minimize or neutralize
security risks, so that people are prepared and know
how to act in case of any eventuality, protect their
physical integrity, their belongings, and promote a
“Culture of Safety” for their own sake as well as for
society's sake.

JOURNEY BY FOOT
Contact COP20|CMPio security personnel or hotel staff to
learn about areas and times when it’s safe to walk.
It’s best if you don’t walk alone
Know where you're going.
Always take a city map with you.
Avoid walking on dark streets.
Only carry as much cash as your actually need.
Always carry a copy of your passport with you.
Avoid buying from street vendors.
Take care of your belongings when walking through crowded
places.
LOSS OF OBJECTS OR DOCUMENTS
Contact the Security Officer in charge at the place where you
lost them. If you are at the hotel or in a commercial
establishment, identify the Security Head and report the
incident.
Request guidance from the Police in order to file a claim at the
corresponding Police Station. If necessary, phone your
embassy or consulate.
WHAT ACTIONS TO TAKE IF YOU FORGET
OR LOSE YOUR CREDENTIAL
If you lose your credential report it immediately to the security
personnel or hosts of COP20, or go to the press office, as
appropriate.
The UN security personnel will accompany you to the Security
Commission, where you can get a new credential.ee om—~—tt—™
RECOMMENDATIONS TO EXCHANGE
CURRENCY
¢ Most large commercial establishments accept US Dollars.
v¢ When you need to exchange currency, it’s preferable to do it in
a bank (Open on Mondays to Fridays from 09:00 to 17:30;
Saturdays from 09:00 to 12:45).
¥ You can also exchange money in your hotel counter or in or
authorized money exchange offices.
V¥ It’s best if you avoid exchanging money on the street
¥ A bank agent where you can exchange currencies will be
available at the COP20 Main Venue.
RECOMMENDATIONS IN CASE OF FIRE
¢ When a fire alarm triggers or if find yourself at imminent risk
from fire, keep calm and immediately leave the premises
through the evacuation routes without running. Remember not
to use the elevators.
¥ Ifyou are ina mall, hotel, restaurant, etc. and you notice there is
a fire, inform the manager or security personnel or sound the
alarm and, without running, evacuate the premises using the
evacuation routes.
¥ Ifsmoke does not let you breathe, get down as close as you can
to the floor and evacuate through the evacuation route. If
necessary, crawl; cover your nose and mouth with a wet cloth.
Fresher air is closer to the floor.
V¥ If your clothing catches fire, do not run. Throw yourself on the
floor and roll slowly, or cover yourself with a non-inflammable
cover or blanket to put off the fire.
