Daniel and Matthew because of their age. They each translated for doctors and were put in uncomfortable situations because of the many women that were seen for female issues and physical abuse. I know with all my heart the Lord was in charge, the boys handled this with great maturity. They prayed over many people and they helped patients look past their earthly pain and suffering. There were 165 people who accepted Christ and 65 reconciled, and these people will continue to be discipled. Peruvians walked for hours and days to come see the doctors. Many who showed up frightened, depressed and lost, stood tall and walked out smiling because now they know they have something much better to look forward to in the promise of Jesus Christ. For the Peruvians knowing that people in the U.S. love the Lord so much that they would send teams to Peru to help them means a lot. They understand that its not just our family here, but all of you as the body of Christ that share in this experience. James 2:5
Listen, my beloved brothers, has not God chosen those who are poor in the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom, which he has promised to those who love him? Thi ngs Conti nue To Fal l I n Pl ace The Goshorns Step by Step I guess eventually Ill quit saying that another month has past, but for now it still amazes me. Since weve been out of the U.S. there have been several deaths of friends and family. We discussed how this would happen before we left and tried to prepare. What we found out is that you really cant prepare. We know that being in the States wouldnt change anything, its just the thought of not being able to be there, its that ministry of presence, we miss. What helps is knowing that we are where God wants us. We have made several 8 hour trips to Lima for our visas and still have a couple more trips ahead of us. Tim, Jennifer and Daniel have their residency cards, and Matthew and Katherine's are in process. Relationships continue to grow and doors continue to open. Last month Jennifer told you about Katty and how she has no Bible. Since then we have had several people offer to buy the Bibles for all the children and house moms in the orphanage. I guess its silly for us to continue to wonder how we will be able to do something, because the Lord continues to show us he will provide for our needs through you. When we get the bibles we dont just want to hand them out and go on. We want it to be special, they are receiving the Word of God, and we are hoping they will be excited about it. I told you about Diego, the 11 year boy that wants to know more about Jesus and how he knows the story of Daniel and the lions. I believe that if we work with him and disciple him, he could be a valuable tool for the kingdom in the presentation of the Bibles. We are still discussing ways of how to go about this. Tim, Daniel and Matthew traveled to Yurag Marca, an area deep in the Andes Mountains to help translate with a medical team. There was such a great sense of helplessness because so many were beyond the medical treatment we

We humbly thank you for your con- tinued prayers and financial support. We ask that you would prayerfully consider financially supporting this ministry in Peru, without more financial partners this ministry cannot continue to grow. We love you all and thank you for being part of Gods work in Peru. Matthew translating.
Daniel translating. Medicine in the Mountains Ive worked with medical campaigns twice before, so I knew what to expect and I thought I would be ready for anything, but I was mistaken. I wasnt ready for much of anything. I wasnt ready for our frst patent to be a litle girl with a leg infecton so bad that if she didnt get the leg amputated she would die (a procedure her family could most likely not aford). I wasnt ready for our third patent, a 37 year old mother of fve, to be carried in on a blanket by four guys because her breast cancer was so far advanced that she was too weak to walk. I wasnt ready for dozens of abused women to come in needing help, but us not being able to do anything for them...at least not physically. I wasnt ready for a woman who was being beaten and abused to come in and break down in front of us, and then the very next patent to be her husband who was responsible for most of the abuse. Talk about having to control ones emotons. Only Gods grace allowed me to be able to translate for the man. And I defnitely wasn't ready for 6 and 7 year old girls to come in with STDs, many of which came from their own fathers. Did I expect these things? Yes. Was I ready for these things? Certainly not.
A lot of people dont understand why we live where we live and do what we do. The simple answer is that God has called us here. He set a prety easy-to-understand example of what we are to do, and His word is very clear on the mater. We are to love one another, just as Christ has loved us. There are lots of passages in the Bible that show us that we are to love and serve one another, and one such passage I read recently is Romans 12:6-21 We have diferent gifs, according to the grace given to each of us...if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully. Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patent in aficton, faithful in prayer. Share with the Lords people who are in need. Practce hospitality.... Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low positon. Do not be conceited...Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
The week we spent up (further) in the mountains was tough both physically and emotonally, but thats what God calls us to do. He calls us to serve others, to encourage and teach them, to help those who are in need, and above all to love. Thats what we try to do every day. As difcult as it is to tell a father that his daughter needs treatment/surgery or she could die, knowing the whole tme that they cant aford to go to a hospital, is very difcult, but God hasnt called us to do what is easy. We went, we helped as much as we could, we prayed hard and now we leave it up to God. Hundreds of people were exposed to the Gospel in that week. That is the main purpose for going. Those few days in that town have allowed for the discipleship to grow in that area. By us going there we were able to help physically and more importantly spiritually, all the while showing the love of Christ to the people there. As it says in 1 John 4:7 Daniel
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.
Par t ner wi t h us God has been very clear that we cannot do anything alone. First we need Him, second we need the Body of Christ. We will never be effective min- isters of Gods word without your prayers and financial support. Please consider partnering with us to further Gods Kingdom in Peru.

Praises for the people in Peru so willing to help. We are thankful for a new home in Peru. We are grateful for the body of Christ. We are thankful for our health. We are thankful for His patience. 1 Peter 4:10 As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace:
