The Military Technological College (MTC) is a new cross service state-of-the-art and well-resourced campus. MTC will
award internationally recognized Advanced Diploma, Bachelor of Engineering and postgraduate qualifications which will
be accredited for Incorporated and Chartered Engineering status. The mission of MTC is to deliver trade, specialist,
undergraduate and post-graduate engineering programmes for all Oman MOD service personnel, in a well-equipped and
high quality learning and training environment, resulting in the acquisition and application of knowledge and the
achievement of operational competence and effectiveness at all levels.
Salary scales shown are in Omani Rials (OMR) Tax free and include housing and car allowance. Candidates will receive an
additional one month's basic salary as a gratuity at the end of each year. Additional provisions will include i) air travel to and
from home base for candidates, spouse and children of school age (up to 18), ii) free medical treatment and health insurance
at MOD medical services, iii) 1500 Omani Rials (OMR) in support of school fees per child to a maximum of two children.

Vacancies Job Title:
Head of Quality Assurance Department (Monthly salary: 3350 OMR) : To be responsible for implementing and
maintaining effective quality assurance framework in accordance with university of Portsmouth and MTC quality framework
policy and requirement . Duties will also include development, implementation, communication and maintaining a quality
plan to bring the MTC performance into compliance with all Academics Accreditation to both external and internal
requirements. Engineering background is preferable. Candidate should have a higher degree(PhD Preferable), a publication
record, professional body membership such as IMech E, the RAeS, IET, ICE or IMarEST.
Head of Marine Engineering Department/Head of System Engineering Department (Monthly
salary: 3350 OMR): Assume responsibility for the overall quality, content, development and delivery of all academic and
vocational training programmes offered by the department and ideally be an Incorporated or preferably Chartered Engineer
and have a higher degree(PhD preferable).
Deputy Head (Systems Engineering) Department /Deputy Head (Civil Engineering) Department: (Monthly
salary: 3000 OMR): You should have a track record of delivery of programmes and have a PhD or a minimum of Masters in
your discipline field. Have experience of leading a team that has developed and delivered validated programmes and ideally
be an Incorporated or preferably Chartered Engineer.
Principal Lecturers/Senior Lecturers/Lecturers: (Monthly salary range (2100 to 2300 OMR): required in the
following Departments: Aeronautical Engineering/Marine Engineering/Systems Engineering/Civil Engineering. Discipline
areas: Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Marine Avionics, Radar/Comms, Weapons,
CAD, Thermodynamics, Aerodynamics, Composites, Autonomous Systems, Aircraft Structures, Control, Maintenance.
Relevant background and expertise and the ability to work as part of a team is essential. PLs/SLs/Ls are also required with
appropriate teaching experience in Mathematics, Physics and ICT. You should have a track record and PhD or minimum

Head of Technicians: (Monthly salary:2000 OMR). This senior post necessitates having experience in leading a team of
technicians in an engineering student centric laboratory environment. Should have an MSc or BEng/BSc or equivalent
qualification. Membership of a Professional Body will be an advantage.

Senior Technicians/Technicians: (monthly salary range:1200-1700 OMR). Should have a BEng/BSC or minimum of
HND qualification plus relevant experience working in Engineering Labs or equivalent. Membership of a Professional Body
will be an advantage.
General Studies (Mathematics/Physics/Computing)
(monthly salary 2100 OMR) Lecturer grade with appropriate qualifications and teaching experience in
Mathematics/Physics/ICT. Candidates should be capable of teaching at levels inclusive of General Foundation , Higher
(Advanced) Diploma and Bachelor of Engineering (Hons). In addition to lecturing on a range of engineering programmes
you will be expected to contribute through engagement in research and scholarly activity, providing instruction and
academic counselling support to students, and assuming a share of MTC academic responsibilities. You should hold a PhD
(preferred) or Master degree in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science/Information and Communications Technology, or
other related scientific discipline. Membership of an appropriate professional body is an advantage.

Aeronautical Engineering Department, MTC, Muscat, Oman

The Department of Aeronautical Engineering at MTC seeks applicants at the
Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Principal Lecturer grade. We are particularly interested in
Aeronautics disciplines which contribute to sustainable air transport and/or enhance vehicle
intelligence safely and reliably. Relevant fundamental disciplines may include fluid
mechanics, Aerodynamics, composites, autonomous systems, aircraft structures,
aeroacoustics, aeroelasticity, control of flying robots, systems engineering, aeroacoustics, and
aviation. In addition to lecturing on a range of Aeronautical programs you will be expected to
contribute through engagement in research and scholarly activity, providing instruction and
academic counseling support to students, and assuming a share of the Aeronautical
Department academic responsibilities.
You should hold a PhD (preferred) or Master degree in Aeronautical Engineering or other
related engineering discipline. Membership of a professional body is an advantage.

The Department is also seeking applications from qualified candidates at the Senior
Technician/ Technician grade. Candidates should have related experience and qualification

Marine Engineering Department, MTC, Muscat, Oman

The Department of Marine Engineering at MTC seeks applicants for the post of Head of the
Marine Department to assume responsibility for the overall quality, content, development
and delivery of all academic and vocational training programmes offered by the department
and ideally be an Incorporated or preferably Chartered Engineer and have a higher
degree(PhD preferable). In addition to assisting the Vice Dean of Academic Affairs in overall
management of the department, you will be required to ensure quality, content, development

and delivery of a range of specialist academic program modules in marine engineering.
Modules will be designed to meet international academic and professional institutional
standards. You will also be expected to contribute through engagement in research and
scholarly activity, providing instruction and academic counseling support to students, and
ensuring delivery of both academic and applied training needs.
The department is also seeking applicants at the Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Principal
Lecturer grade. The Marine Engineering Department educates and trains military and
civilian students for performing engineering work in the marine sector or marine-related
shore-based industries involving the design, production, operation, maintenance and

Deputy Head of Department of Civil Engineering experienced in both Construction
Project Management and Quantity Surveying.

In addition to assisting the Head of Department of Civil Engineering in overall
management of the Department, you will be required to ensure quality, content, development
and delivery of a range of specialist academic programs, designed to meet international
academic and professional institutional standards. You will also be expected to contribute
through engagement in research and scholarly activity, providing instruction and academic
counseling support to students, and ensuring delivery of both academic and applied training
needs.

Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical/Communication/Computing Engineering.
