(Listed in alphabetical order)

Deer Park
Coach: Larry Kozlowski (6-54)
2013 record: 1-9 (0-7)
Division: V
Key players: Sr. LB Chad Comarata; Sr. LB
Austin Siemon; Sr. LB Kameran Alexander;
Jr. QB Austin Osborne; So. WR Jordan Yell-
ing
Game to watch: at Reading Oct. 17.
Outlook: Comarata finished fifth in the
CHL with 105 tackles and third with 7

sacks last season, while Yelling tied three
other players for the league lead with four
interceptions. The upper class has been
starting for most of their varsity careers at
Deer Park, Kozlowski said. We have
more athletes than most of the teams on
our schedule, so our team speed will be
very important. A lack of depth will call for
some players going both ways, so we have
been working hard on our conditioning
this off-season.
Finneytown
Coach: Ryan Hubbard (first season)
2013 record: 2-8 (1-6)
Division: V
Key players: Jr. QB/DB Bryce Butler; Sr. WR/
OLB Demarco Flowers; Sr. QB/OLB Jordan
Smith; Sr. RB/DB Deante Goodwin; Sr. WR/
DB Turner Alston.
Game to watch: Bellevue, Aug. 29
Outlook: Hubbard, a longtime Wildcats as-
sistant and Finneytown alum, inherits a
program he sees as long on skill players and
short on experienced linemen. We have
depth at the skill positions, Hubbard said.
Our goal will be to get our athletes the
ball in the open field and let them make
plays.
Indian Hill
Coach: Tony Arcuri (12-8; first season at In-
dian Hill)
2013 record: 4-6 (4-3)
Division: IV
Key players: So. QB Reed Aiccholz; So. RB
Dawson Aiccholz; Sr. OL San Szames; Sr. DB
Jason Littman; Sr. FB Kyle NeCamp
Game to watch: Madeira, Oct. 2.
Outlook: Arcuri was 2008 CHL coach of the
year at Madeira, his alma mater. He de-
scribes the Braves as having decent
depth, but the overall success for this
season will rise and fall on the backs of the
offensive and defensive lines. Szames
ranked second in the CHL with 10 sacks last
season. Most of the skill positions are
stocked by talented but and young and un-
proven players, Arcuri said.
Madeira
Coach: Mike Shafer (87-57)
2013 record: 8-3 (5-2)
Division: V
Key players: Sr. RB Colin Voisard; Sr. WR/DB
Ryan Welt; Sr. OL/DL Jake VonHoene; Sr. OL/
DL Ian Marsh; Sr. OL/DL Kurtis Groene
Game to watch: at Mariemont, Oct. 10
Outlook: The Mustangs tied Mariemont
for second last season, and Shafer expects
to see similar balance in the CHL this sea-
son. Wyoming will be the favorites with
several other teams that can compete for a
league championship, he said. Hes count-
ing on Madeiras varsity experience on the
offensive and defensive lines, which could
help make up for what he describes as a
lack of varsity experience and depth at
skilled positions.
Mariemont
Coach: Kurry Commins (73-53)
2013 record: 7-4 (5-2)
Division: V
Key players: Sr. LB Parker Sullivan; Sr. LB
Drew Serraino; Sr. LB/OL Connor Osgood;
Sr. DB/RB Chris Cascella; Sr. DL/OL Mark
Hamlin
Game to watch: Madeira, Oct. 10
Outlook: The strengths of our team this
year are the experience we have at our skill
positions, the returning starters of our sen-
ior class and athletic ability, Commins
said. Our weaknesses are the lack of depth
and inexperience on the offensive line.
Sullivans 118 tackles last season were sec-
ond in the CHL.
Reading
Coach: Pat McLaughlin (first season)
2013 record: 5-5 (3-4)
Division: V
Key players: Sr. DE/OT Derek King; So. RB/
DB Baden Pinson; Jr. LB/TE Noah Pettyjohn;
Sr. QB/DB Eric Wachendorf; Sr. LB/TE Jesse
Walker
Game to watch: Deer Park, Oct. 17
Outlook: McLaughlin moves from Moeller
offensive coordinator to take over the Blue
Devils, and his biggest challenge is install-
ing new schemes. If we can understand
and execute these new schemes, we will
have a chance to compete in our league,
he said. The team has been working very
hard in the off-season an has responded to
everything the coaching staff has put be-
fore them. King returns after finishing
third in the CHL with 108 tackles last sea-
son.
Taylor
Coach: David Huffman (22-38)
2013 record: 6-4 (3-4)
Division: IV
Key players: Sr. QB Nick Koehne; Sr. RB/LB
Koty Kendall; Sr. OL/OLB Austin Miller; Sr.
WR/DB Zach Fulton; Sr. TE/LB Sean Engles
Game to watch: Wyoming, Sept. 26
Outlook: Kendall finished second in the
CHL in rushing with 1,084 yards and third
with 13 rushing touchdowns. Koehne fin-
ished fifth in passing with 1,041yards. We
have eight returning starters on defense
and eight returning starters on offense,
Huffman said.
Wyoming
Coach: Aaron Hancock (15-6)
2013 record: 8-3 (7-0)
Division: IV
Key players: Sr. DE/TE Hudson Rogers; Sr. OL
Devon Davis; Sr. DB Parker Chalmers; Sr. WR
Duke Brunke; Sr. DB Asa Palmer.
Game to watch: at McNicholas Sept. 13.
Outlook: One Marty leaves, another takes
over. Sophomore Andrew Marty takes over
at quarterback for Will Marty, who gradu-
ated after leading the CHL in passing with
1,946 yards and 25 touchdowns in 10
games. Andrew Marty saw action in seven
games, going 10-for-17 for 104 yards and
two touchdowns with two interceptions.
He will have the chance to develop behind
an experienced offensive line. We have
talent at the skilled positions, and our of-
fensive line and defensive line is going to
be our backbone this year with multiple re-
turning starters on both sides of the ball.

You dont need to listen hard to
hear that buzz coming from the ex-
treme southwest corner of Hamilton
County.
Like a high-tension wire, its being
generated by the energy surrounding
Taylor High School football.
Moving into a sparkling new stadi-
um with a team returning several
players who played key roles in last
seasons first winning record since
1989 will do that.
Athletic director Larry Herges
admitted that hes been
so caught up in putting
finishing touches on
the new stadium that
hes had trouble re-
membering players
names.
The excitement is
unreal, he said this
summer.
The Yellowjackets junior varsity
and freshman teams are scheduled to
christen the new stadium, complete
with artificial turf handed down
from New Orleans Superdome, on
Aug. 30, but the varsitys game
against Clark Montessori on Sept. 5
will serve as the official grand open-
ing.
Its a buzz, said Herges, who had
12,000 hits on his Twitter account
@taylorsportsad the last week of
May. People are talking about it.
Alumni have been calling and mak-
ing plans to come. Were making it a
carnival-type atmosphere. Its going
