I recently received a communique
fromagroupwhocallthemselves,"Wethe
People."It wasaDEMANDthat Ianswer
75 carefully worded questions within
threedays. AllelectedofficialsandIhave
received other demands and deadlines
fromthisgroup,usuallythatwevacateour
officesbecausewearenotlegallyinoffice
orsomeothersuchnonsense.
Manyofthe questions they demand Ianswer, are like
the questions a slimy lawyer would use to trick a witness
ratherthan get at the truth. Questions like: when did you
stop beatingyourwife?There is no answer, yet this group
says it is my DUTY to respond to them and answer these
questions.
To WEthe PEOPLE:
YousayIhavethreedaystorespondtoyourDEMAND.
I say, OR WHAT? I am very busy dealing with county
business and the trials coming up; attempted murder,
vehicularassault, and the usual mayhem broughtabout by
drunkenanddrugged-uppeople.Idohaveaduty. It istothe
peoplewhoarethecitizensofStevensCounty. Ibelievethe
peoplewant me to payattention to importantthings rather
than waste time to answeryour cleverquestions. They do
notwantmetopandertothedemandsofeverysmallgroup
thatwants attentionorthatfind the mainstreamofpeaceful
politicaldissentnotradicalenoughtosuitthem. Ithinkyou
folks have too much time on your hands. Do something
constructivewith it.
T,he mannerinwhichsomeofthepeopleofyourgroup
go aboutdoing things; with discourtesy, confrontation and
being generally rude and demanding, reveals something
aboutthevaluesandthespiritofyourgroup.Suchbehavior
is not a credit to you oryour cause and gives a bad name
to otherfreedom minded peoplewho areworking to effect
changein society.
Ihave heard thatyourgroup believes the RCWs only
apply to government workers and officials orpeople who
havecontractedwiththestate.
IhavealsoheardyourgroupdoesnotbelievetheRCWs
are binding on each ofyou personally. Do you seriously
believethelawdoesnotapplyto you?
In your zeal to remove, replace, or control county
officials, be careful not to infringe on the rights ofother
individualsorofthepublic.You maynotbelievetheRCWs
applytoyou,butIbelievetheydo, Myadviceisplain.Keep
thepeace. Donotthreatenorharmorinterferewithanother
person.Beagoodneighbor.Don'tdrinkanddri ve. Payyour
fair shareoftaxes.Get a driverslicense. Treat others, as you
wouldliketobetreated.
