HOW TO MAKE A SPHAGETTI

Ingredient/Material :
1. Box Of Spaghetti
2. Water
3. Stove
4. Washbasin
5. Salt
6. Tea Spoon
7. Fork
8. Strainer
9. Frying Pan
10. Sauce

Arrangement:

1. Pre-measure how much spaghetti you need for how many people you will need to
serve. One full box (which is around 454 g [~1 lb]) of dry spaghetti will feed
approximately 4 to 5 people. One serving is equal to only 1/4 lb (100 g). For every 100 g
(1/4 lb) of spaghetti to cook, add 1 quart (4 cups) of water. If you're cooking a full boxful,
you will need 4 quarts of water to cook all that spaghetti.
2. Put a pot of cold water on the stove to boil. Wait for the water to come to a hard boil.
3. Pour some salt (1 tsp per serving) in the boiling water.
4. Break the spaghetti in half with your hands over the pot. To do this you need to place
both of your fists over the handful of spaghetti like you're holding on to a bike handle.
Allow only an inch of space in between each hand. Hold them (with the spaghetti) over
the pot as close as you can, and push your hands inwards towards each other. This will
break the spaghetti in half.
5. Carefully pour/place the spaghetti in the pot without causing any splashing.
6. Use a fork to stir the spaghetti for a few seconds, then allow the water to return to
boil.
7. Turn the dial down to half-way (like a 5) or to minimum and allow the spaghetti to
cook.
8. Stir occasionally, and allow the spaghetti to get soft.
There are different times for different types of spaghetti and how much spaghetti you
are cooking.
a. Angel hair pasta only takes around 2 minutes to reach al dente and 4 minutes to be
completely soft.
b. Spaghettini will take around 6 to 8 minutes to reach the al dente stage, and
another 2 to 3 minutes to be soft throughout.
c. Spaghetti will take around 10 to 12 minutes to reach al dente stage and another 2
minutes to be soft throughout.
a. One extra servings pasta normally take 2 to 4 minutes longer than the next. For
instance, 2 servings of pasta will take 2 to 4 minutes longer to cook than 1 serving
will.
9. Taste/chew-test the spaghetti to see if it's done. It depends on whether you want the
spaghetti to be "done" at al dente stage or "done" at the soft stage.
10. Turn off the burner once the spaghetti is done.
11. Strain the spaghetti in a strainer and then put them back into the pot or a heat-
resistant bowl. Do NOT put the pot back on the burner it was on!!
12. While the spaghetti is cooking, in a separate pan, pour in some pre-made sauce,
cover with lid and set it to boil.
a. For every serving, usually one cup of sauce per serving is sufficient.
b. If you don't have any pre-made sauce or would rather make your own, buy a jar
(or two, depending on how many are joining you) of tomato sauce at your local
grocer and add thoroughly cooked meats (preferably lean ground beef) as you add
the sauce.
13. Turn the heat down immediately once the sauce starts to boil.
a. Once the sauce is done, turn off the burner and take it completely off the burner
ASAP. This way you avoid overcooking it.
14. Mix some sauce into the spaghetti
a. You could also serve the spaghetti by pouring the sauce on top of the noodles, or serve
the sauce separately as each person will have his/her preference of how much sauce
he/she wants on his/her noodles.
15. Enjoy your meal!
