A good Introduction.

1) Use Information or fact.
Elaborate with a sentence or two.
Example:
How to Overcome Discipline Cases at Schools.
A recent survey shows disciplinary
cases are kept rising in schools all over
Malaysia. School discipline board found
to end in smoke in setting measures to
overcome discipline problems.





2) Use anecdote
A Short Story that illustrates a point.
Example:
The Loafing Syndrome among teenagers.
Raj and his friends do not go home after school.
They hang out daily at a shopping complex to while
their time away. There, they join students from other
schools. Sometimes, they play some video games or
just enjoy each others company. Raj and his friends
are just the tip of the iceberg of the loafing syndrome
among teenagers.





3) Use Dialogue
Use an appropriate dialogue to start
your story or convey a point. Use only
two or three exchanges between
speakers to make your point.
Example:
An Unforgettable Incident
Help! Someone just snatched my purse!
The screams shattered the still of the
night. Suddenly, lights were switched on
and heads popped out of doors and
windows. Hey, whats the matter?





4) Use a question
Use a rhetorical question which catches
the readers attention.
Example:
Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.
Did you know that Malaysians throw away
1.2 million tonnes of newspapers daily?
For every ten newspapers bought, only
four are covered for recycling. Thus, the
government has spearheaded a recycling
campaign to encourage Malaysians to
separate their waste.

6) Use a quotation

Example:

Friends

A friend in need is a friend indeed. Thats
a proverb which explains about the need of
friends in our lives.


7) Use a general statement.

Example:

Ways to reduce pollution.
Of late,there has been increasing concern
about the impact of pollution on the
environment and our society. The public
outcry over the various environmental
disasters in our own country should be
lauded. How do we resolve these
problems.?

Techniques in Good Paragraph Writing

1) Make sure theres only one main idea in one
paragraph.

2) Elaborate and support your main ideas by giving
example in a form of story, arguments and facts.

3) Supply further details and be more specific.

4) Use transitional expressions.

- First and foremost, First, finally, for instance, such as,

4) To indicate that you are going to contrast.
-but, yet, nevertheless, by contrast, on the contrary, despite of,
however, on the other hand.

5) To draw conclusion.
-In conclusion, consequently, accordingly, thus, therefore, to
conclude, as a result, in summary, as a conclusion.
