Van Mahotsava was celebrated at village Chhatanpura under the joint auspices of Paryavaran
Mitra and Dept. of forest, iro!abad district. "ocal co##unity was #ade aware of the fact that
they are the proud residents of $raj $hoo#i which had been historically covered with forest area
covered of variety of flora and fauna. %ow the entire region not only faces the proble# of
ravishing forest cover but even trees and plant varieties are also di#inishing day by day #a&ing
the region barren and dry. 'n the absence of green cover, culturally and #ythologically rich $raj
Pradesh would loose its identity and sheen. (wareness ca#paign also included suggesting
covered #ethods for forestation and preservation of plants. )D* forest Dept. +a# (wtar
e#phasised the benefits of forests and said that rich river one in the region is #ost favourable for
developing e,tensive forest cover in this area. -here was to be an e,tensive forest cover in this
region but lac& of awareness away people for the need to preserve forest resources and its
continuous neglect has led to the huge tract of earth turn into a fallow land.

and initiate plantation. /e said that we #ust develop a collective consciousness to protect trees
and to prohibit anybody destroying forests and trees. Participant youngest, girls and boys both
sang awareness songs dedicated to preservation of environ#ent. -he huge gathering of people

Dr. )ubodh Dubey secretary Paryavaran Mitra re#inded the gathering about the #ythological
lin&ages between 1rishna &atha and cultural history co##itted towards preservation of
environ#ent and forest cover. /e argued that arrestors have been #ove sensitive towards
environ#ent protection and in #odern ti#e have turned #atter and environ#ent as an ene#ies,
which has provided disastrans for the entire #an&ind. Dr. Dubey called up on every #e#ber of
the society and participating wo#en to rise and la&e the lead in environ#ent protection
initiatives Dr. Dubey also praised and e,a#plitied the role of several environ#entalists across
'ndia who have ta&en upon the cause and their efforts have sensiti!ed the entire society regarding
environ#ental concern.
