EMPLOYMENT RECORD

Michel's Patisserie, Southland (February 2005 – November 2007)

During my time at Michel's I dealt with customer service and food handling. Some of my
responsibilities included waitressing, serving customers at the counter and making coffee. I was
also often left with the responsibility of closing the shop and counting the day’s takings on behalf
of the manager aswell as training new members of staff. This job required good people skills,
organisation and the ability to work under pressure, as the cafe was often busy with customers of
varying ages and needs.

Out of School Hours Care, Cheltenham Primary School (June 2007 - May 2008)

At Cheltenham Primary School, I worked as an after school carer for children. My responsibilities
that came with this job was organising activities, monitoring the children, assisting the co-
ordinator. This job required good social skills as I worked with all sorts of children and also
persistence and endurance as often, the children could be quite demanding and challenging. I
also had to liase with parents of the children, sorting finances or specific requests they had.

Holi Goddess, Mentone (February 2008 - November 2008)

I worked as a sales assistant at Holi Goddess, maintaining the store in good condition by sorting
out stock and cleaning. I also dealt with customer service in retail and also organisation for Yoga
classes every week. I was left with the responsibility of managing, opening and closing the shop.

Cafe Galliano, Southland (March 2009 - June 2009)

I had this job prior to travelling for six months around Europe. Working at Galliano, I had the basic
responsibilities of a cafe worker, customer service, making coffees, food preparation and
waitressing. I was often left as the manager of the store, so good organisation and a sense of
responsibility was required to ensure customer satisfaction and the shop running to the owner's
standard.

APPROACH TO LIFE

In 2001, my family and I emigrated to Australia, from England. Although challenging, I believe this
has been very beneficial as it has given me more confidence, social skills and independence.

I have also just recently returned from Europe, where I travelled this year from June - November.
Through this experience I gained a lot more independance, organising the trip by myself and
working full time prior to the trip to save up funds. Meeting new people during the trip and seeing
new places has also bettered my communication skills as often the people I did meet spoke none
or limited English.

ORGANISATIONS, INTERESTS AND PURSUITS

Memberships: For the duration of 2005 and 2006 I was a member of the Student Youth Network
at RMIT University. I presented radio programmes on a weekly basis, so impromptu speaking
skills and general charisma was needed. I also organised and planned my shows every week,
often talking to local musicians. This greatly developed my social skills, as I constantly was
meeting and working with new people.

Music: I enjoy playing the piano as a hobby and am interested in music in general.

Interests: I have just recently completed my high school education, where I attained an ENTER
score of 84.8. During VCE, I studied Media, Visual Communications and Design, French, Maths
Methods, Food Technology, History and Literature. My main interests at school were media and
photography, literature and French, as I one day hope to live in France to develop my language
skills.

ACADEMIC RECORD

From 1994 – 2001 I attended Horton Kirby Primary School. In my first term of Year 6 I moved to
Australia and in January 2002, I started at Beaumaris North Primary School. This is where I
completed my primary education. In 2003 I enrolled into Mentone Girls Secondary College where
I started my secondary education, which I have now completed. I attained a high enough score
for my desired Arts course at Monash University, where I hope to further my studies starting in
2010.
