Clinical Instructor
Theoretical Definition
Demonstrates and teaches patient care in classroom and clinical units to
nursing students and instructs students in principles and application of
physical, biological, and psychological subjects related to nursing.
Operational Definition
Is the one who instructs or teaches nursing students.

Clinical Performance
Theoretical Definition
The accomplishment of a given task measured against preset known
standards of accuracy, completeness, cost, and speed
Operational Definition
Clinical performance is execution of providing care to its patients.
Nursing Theories
Theoretical Definition
Nursing theory is the term given to the body of knowledge that is used to
support nursing practice. The theories used for this study are: Nightingales
environmental theory, Peplau's Interpersonal theory, Hendersons Humane
Holistic Care for Patients, Abdellahs Twenty-one nursing problems and
Watsons integration within nursing practice.

Operational Definition

An organized framework of concepts and purposes designed to guide the
practice of nursing.



Nursing Skills

Theoretical Definition
An ability and capacity acquired through deliberate, systematic, and sustained
effort to smoothly and adaptively carryout complex activities or job functions
involving ideas, things , and/or people.

Operational Definition

Skills that is acquired by nursing students through the study in the skills lab.

Nursing Skills Lab
Theoretical Definition
The Clinical Skills Laboratory is a dedicated instructional room with dozens of
interactive models and simulators for training and self-study.
Operational Definition
Place where nursing students learn nursing skills and practice and to be
evaluated.


Nursing Students
Theoretical Definition
Individuals enrolled in a school of nursing or a formal educational program
leading to a degree in nursing.
Operational Definition
Individuals who are studying Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Related Learning Experience

Theoretical Definition

The Related Learning Experience is a mandatory program given by CHED as
a supplement in the culmination of Skills and knowledge of nursing students
as part of their curriculum for BS Nursing.

Operational Definition

Opportunities in which all students may participate in high quality programs
that provide industry related and subject matter related learning experiences
that prepare students for further education, future employment and lifelong
learning.
