Extra Curriculum Activities
Throughout the year I will be integrating certain themes and events that are run externally, but in
which, will be included internally in my personal curriculum. Eg:

awareness of workplace safety issues around Australia. The week aims to encourage all working
Australians to get involved in, and concentrate on, safety in their workplace to reduce death, injury

Week 5 23/2 (Swimming Carnival Week)
P- Last week of completely focusing on the FMS skills of running, jumping,
hopping skipping. Give a brief introduction of the next weeks agenda, which will
be skipping and how to use the skills they have just worked on.
1/2- Swimming Carnival- Best of year groups- 7yr, 8yr, 9yr, 10yr, 11yr, 12yr.
3/4- Swimming Carnival- Students welcome to sign up to any events they feel
comfortable.
5/6- Swimming Carnival- Minimum of 2 events, maximum of 5.
Waterslide will open for free time after all events finish. Day event.
Week 6 2/3 P- Introduction to Skipping and briefing them on Jump Rope For Heart and how
they can raise money and win awards.
1/2- FMS: Introduction of the skills of running, vertical jump, hopping and
skipping.
3/4- Integrated dance, minor games and skipping, all emphasising FMS skills:
running, hopping, skipping, vertical jump.

Week 7 9/3 P- Each student will receive their own skipping rope, to practice and really enforce
the skipping skills and make a positive environment of physical activity.

Week 8 16/3 P- This week children will work as a class, so group skipping and team skipping.
1/2- FMS: Enforcing the Jump Rope For Heart and the physical participation
aspect, the raising money and prizes that can be had through participation. Each
student will receive their own skipping rope.
3/4- Peer assessment of skipping, partner work and large group games.
5/6- Peer assessment of skipping, partner work and large group games.
Week 9 23/3 P- Last week of skipping, we will have like a fun/party and show. Where there will
be loud music and a skipping performance. The higher grades will be coming in to
also nurture and help the preps. This should work at a great assessment tool and
also a tool to help improve the preps understanding.
1/2- Last week of term and skipping, grade or 5/6 will be coming into the
classroom to peer assess and assist the kids and help them to improve. Loud
Music and fun games will be had during the last class.
3/4- During this last week and 5/6 students will be peer assessing and assisting
the younger students to improve and enjoy skipping. Loud Music and fun team
and group skipping games will be held.
5/6- During this last week and 5/6 students will be peer assessing and assisting
