Academic Projects

B. Tech projects:

Main project: High Strength Concrete by using Recycled Aggregate
Made to assess the suitability of recycled aggregate as an alternative material to natural
coarse, and to compare the various mechanical properties of recycled aggregate with control
concrete made of natural aggregates. It is also aimed to study the use of fly ash and silica fume as
partial replacement of cement in recycled aggregate concrete to improve mechanical properties,
achieve economy, durability and sustainability.

Mini project: Hyderabad Metro Rail
As a part of mini project we worked as Trainee Engineers in Larsen & Toubro for the period of 6
weeks. We had a great exposure in execution works of Hyderabad Metro rail project. We were assigned
with an execution engineers and involved in activities such as soil investigation done at the site, casting of
foundation and piers, reinforcement detailing, segment erection, form work and scaffolding.

Built a GUI using MATLAB to analyze SINGLE SPAN BEAMS.
Built a GUI using MATLAB for generation of 3D ARCH BRIDGE.
Modeled and Analyzed a PETRONAS TOWER, Singapore using ETABS as a course project.

Project on: Slope Stability Analysis of Bridge (no: 39) of Katra-Quazigund Railway Project,
J.K.
Project summary: Slope failures are one of the predominant problems being faced in
highways and railway track projects in mountainous regions. Jammu-Udhampur-Srinagar-
Baramulla Railway Link has a severe problem due to the landslides as it falls in the zone V as
per indian seismic hazard map. In the present study, the characteristics of rockmass and field
investigation at the site have been considered for the stability analysis. The analysis has been
done using computer software Slide and Phase
2
and required support measures have been
suggested for improving the long-term stability of the slope.
