In order to stay healthy, it is important to have
a balanced diet in other words, food that con-
tains something from each of the five main
groups of food. These groups are protein, car-
bohydrates, fat, vitamins and minerals and
starchy food.
Protein is very important for building our body.
It helps us to build new cells as old ones die.
Meat and dairy products are major sources of
protein, but not the only one we can also get
protein from fish , eggs and beans.
Carbohydrates and fat are important to ena-
ble us to store energy-they provide fuel for the
body. Carbohydrates are found in sugar..
Our body also needs minerals, such as iron and
calcium and vitamins. Fish, vegetables and milk
contain most of the minerals we need. Vitamins
are found in fresh vegetables and fruits.

WEEK OF INTEGRATION ASSESSMENT PAGE
Homework assignment / Pay attention to time : no more than 1:30
In England, people eat a big breakfast; they have meat and eggs, or fish, or fried
bacon, and bread and butter with jam or marmalade..They drink tea or coffee with
milk.
People work from eight or nine till one. They do not go home for lunch. They have
lunch in a restaurant or tea-shop, or at the office.
Many people live out of town in the suburbs. When they come home, they have din-

transformed our lives . Our life has become easier and more complex at the
same time .Robots are mechanical devices which are capable of performing a
variety of tasks in a short time .
Robots have become popular characters in science fiction movies like star
wars and transformers and Nestor is one of them .
It is a robot that can do all the chores* for you. Quiet, efficient and easy to
program, Nestor can make the beds, do the washing-up and even cook for you.

Tikki is a fictional penguin character in a web site programme.
Read Tikki s guide Stop Life is in danger
Lets write a letter of complaint Session Nine
Text 1: Now do you see what I mean when I say life is in trouble? All the indicators are on
red. You, people are cutting down forests. You are covering good land in concrete, building new
roads, polluting the land, air and water because of cars, airplanes , ships,, farming chemicals and
fertilizers, garbage (especially plastic), drains , fish farming .
You are vacuuming the oceans of fish so that in many parts there are hardly
left. You are trying to kid yourselves that there is no problem.
Text 2: People are cutting and burning tropical forests ,more and more both for their timber
and to make new ranch land for raising yet more animals for rich people to eat ( poor people
cant afford meat).
The boreal forests are going fast ,too mostly for making
paper for newspapers, magazines and offices.
People have already cut down half the worlds forests.
Remember , its not just the trees that are lost
but all animals whose home it was.
Text 3: Lakes , rivers and wetlands homes to many species like birds, fish and frogs. Yet in
the last 30 years , these creatures have declined almost by half . Nobody knows for sure why
these creatures are dying so fast but it seems likely that chemical pollution and global warming
are at least responsible.
The seas and the oceans homes to many animals : mammals like dolphins , whales and
seals,,fish and sea birds including penguins like me! And you guessed it ! Many of my sea bird
friends are in trouble. But part of the reason wildlife in the seas is having
Trouble, is that people are taking much more of their share of the fish.

or food for other animals .

Homework assignment / Pay attention to time : no more than 1:30
What has happened to Willow lake?
Two years ago, Willow lake was dirty and polluted . Nobody wanted to visit it . People came
to the lake to throw away the rubbish . Then a group of local people decided to clean it up.

Forty eight volunteers helped. They worked
in the evenings and at weekends for eight
months. When they cleaned the lake, they
found: four bicycles, ten shoes, three com-
puters, seven old mobile phones and three
wheels from a car!
The group planted 75 trees and more than
500 flowers around the lake. We have tried
to make a beautiful environment for the local
people, explains one volunteer. By doing this,
we have also created a habitat for wild life.
Now that Willow Lake is clean again there
are 24 ducks and 12 swans that have made it
their home. There are a lot of fish, birds

and other animals living there, too.
The volunteers have put 20 wooden tables and
chairs around the lake. Now, local people can walk
around the lake and have a picnic.

2/ Find in the text words opposite in meaning to the following: (1pt)
School violence isn't easy to understand. There is no single reason why students become violent. One factor
that may explain this problem is our young generation's exposure to violence at an early age, very often in their
own homes, either by witnessing it in family dispute, or by watching it on television or on DVDs or in the street.
Young minds believe then that power justifies all, even murder. Many begin imitating their screen hero by in-
tensifying their desire to live mad. Another factor is the lack of parental attention in many homes. In addition,
unsuccessful students often find schools to be unwelcoming places.
Children have a right to feel safe in school. We need a new vision for our schools. A peaceful school not only is
possible, but it is the most convenient place where students can achieve their potential. Experts tell us that the
only way to reduce violence is to create a climate in which it is considered to be unacceptable by all, giving
teachers and administrators regular guidelines to impose when students misbehave and cultivating knowledge
of creative programmes.

Biography of great figures: Abraham Lincoln and the penny

Activity one: Read the text and fill in the table.
Abraham Lincoln, Americas 16
th
president was born in Kentucky in
1809. In 1816 , his family moved west to Indiana, where life was extreme-
ly difficult.
The Lincoln family was very poor and Abraham worked hard to help
his parents, who lived in a little pioneer village.
One day, his mother sent him to do some shopping. The shop was
very far away and Abraham had to walk all the way there. After several hours he finally arrived,
did his shopping, and started the walk home.
On his way back, he suddenly realized that he had a penny too many the owner of the shop
has made a mistake. This penny is his, not mine, he thought to himself.
The young boy went home and gave his mother the shopping, then he immediately left again
and walked all the way back to the shop to return the penny. And that is why Abraham Lincolns
face is on the penny and why he is known as Honest Abe.
Later in his life, Abraham Lincoln became another of Americas most famous citizens. In
1860, when he was a president, a civil war broke out between the North and the South, but Lin-
coln managed to keep the United States together, and he emancipated the black slaves, which
meant that they became free men and women. This made many white people hate him, and in
1865, he was assassinated in a theatre in Washington by a fanatic from the South.

First of all , Id like to say that, in general, the people in my country tend to work as hard
as people in some countries .Most of our population works in the service indus-
try..there is very little heavy industry .most maufacturing is fully auto-
mated . ..they usually work about 35 hours a week and have four weeks holidays a
year. In some countries the situation is different .People have to work in old fashioned
factories or work in fields using animals rather than tractors .things are
beginning to change .There are fewer jobs .. people are out of work
people have to work harder to keep their jobs .avoid being redundant .In conclusion ,
Id like to say that I agree that people nowadays have to work hard.

was Air France Flight 4590 disaster which took place on 25 July,
2000. As the Concorde involved was taking off from France's
Charles de Gaulle International Airport it hit a piece of debris lying
on the runway which burst one of its tyres. Some of the debris
struck the plane's wing, causing one of the fuel tanks to rupture.
With fuel leaking, flames engulfed the aircraft, which was unable to climb or accel-
erate. Its wing disintegrating, the Concorde crashed into the nearby Htelissimo,

queen was bathing, one day, a frog crept out of the wa-ter onto the land , and said to her: Your wish
will be fulfilled before a year has gone by, you will have a daughter. Eventually , the queen had a little
girl who was very pretty. To express his happiness , the king ordered a great feast. He invited many
people and included the the wise women. There were thirteen of them in the kingdom.
One of them was not invited because there were only twelve golden plates. As the feast neared to the
end, wise women forecast nice things for the prin-cess. When eleven of them had made their promis-
es, suddenly the thirteenth came in. As she entered she said: the kings daughter shall, in her fif-
teenth year , prick herself with a spindle and fall down dead;
They were all shocked . The twelfth wise woman , whose good wish still re-mained, said :the princess
wont die but she will sleep for hundred years. When she was fifteen the princess pricked herself
with a spindle and fell dead. While people were lying asleep , a thord edge grew and covered the pal-

traveller to take off his cloak shall be regarded as
the stronger. You begin." So the Sun retired behind
a cloud, and the Wind began to blow as hard as it
could upon the traveller. But the harder he blew the
more closely did the traveller wrap his cloak round

Then the Sun came out and shone in all his glory up-
