MyPhD is a PhD level education funding under the MyBrain15 programme to achieve the target of 60,000 Malaysian PhD

holders in line with the "Malaysia as a

Centre for Knowledge and Innovation Development " agenda.

MyPhD is the incentive given by the government in an effort to enhance the knowledge and skills of the community members in line with the objectives of the
national economic development under the New Economic Model for innovation based development.

MyPhD Criteria

The candidates

Unemployed Graduates and have no fixed income;
Private Sector Employees, OR
Private Institutions of Higher Education Lecturers (PvIHE)

Groups not eligible to apply

Civil servants and employees of statutory bodies who are permanent / contract / part-time staff at the time of application;
Any application from a part-time study / distance learning programme / online students; and
Students who are sponsored by any agency (except for an education loan) or have a binding contract to serve as well as those who are not entitled for
the exemption / deferment from the requirement to serve.

Malaysian citizen; 1.
Age not exceeding 45 years when applying; 2.
Has received an offer of admission (unconditional) or has started his or her studies in institutions of higher learning; 3.
Full-time study; 4.
Possess the following qualifications: 5.
Master's degree or its equivalent recognized by the public institutions of higher education with a minimum CGPA of 3.00; or 6.
Bachelor's Degree or its equivalent recognized by the public institutions of higher education with a minimum CGPA of 3.50; or 7.
Bachelor's Degree or its equivalent recognized by the Government and work experience recognized as meeting the eligibility requirements in the university; 8.
Has not received any form of sponsorship from other sponsors (except for allowance as a Graduate Research Assistant); 9.
Has never received any funding from other agencies for the same level of study. 10.

* The funding does not exceed 48 months or part thereof if during the application, candidates have started their studies.
Ceiling
** Subject to the provisions of remaining fees.

For financing purposes, payment of the tuition fees will be made to the Bursar of the Institutions of Higher Education while Cost of Living Allowance will be paid
to students account.


Agreement
Students will be bonded with one guarantor and need to serve for a period of five (5) years in Malaysia or in any organisation that has an interest in
Malaysia.
Students who violate the agreement through termination by the university, dropping out, failure in studies or migration to another country within the period
of agreement will be required to repay/reimburse or compensate as per agreement.

Application & Offers
Online Applications are open throughout the year beginning December 1, 2010 through the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia website.
Online offers will be made in four (4) phases, namely January, April, July and October of each year.
Selection of candidates will be based on evaluation by a committee appointed by the Ministry of Higher Education.
