Liberal Arts: Social Science Option - A.A.

Associate of Arts Degree


Social Science, an option of the Associate of Arts degree Curriculum
program in Liberal Arts, is primarily designed to prepare A.A. Degree
students to transfer into the junior year of a baccalaureate
degree program in anthropology, criminology, political Course Credits

The social sciences faculty is strongly committed to SOCI-101 Introduction to Sociology 3
providing students with an introduction to a variety of

discipline. Students who wish to major in a particular PSYC-103 Introduction to Psychology 3
discipline (e.g. psychology) after transferring can still
graduate with a total of 12 credits in that discipline; however, Humanities9 3
transfer institutions which grant the bachelor of arts degree Social Science6 3
prefer students to take most of the coursework in the major at Science (lab)4 4
their institution. Students seeking employment immediately Appreciation of the Arts9 3
after graduation also benefit from the program, in view of the FITN-115 Dynamics of Fitness & Wellness5 1
increasing emphasis many employers place on a liberal arts POLI-101 Introduction to Political Science 3
education.

Students enrolled in associate of arts degree programs who Mathematics or
