Descriptive Questions in the SBI PO exam

The SBI PO exam, like other bank exams,also has a section on descriptive questions. These are typically question
typesthat you would have studied in school letter writing, essay writing, passagesetc. However, the major
difference is that because this test checks youraptitude for a bank job, there are a lot of real-life banking
situations woveninto the topics of the letter and essay.
Letter-Writing Tips and Common Topics:
These fall into two major categories professional and personal.
I. Professional
You may asked to write a letteras a bank employee, branch manager, relationship manager etc.
While the actual letter neednot be very technical, you need to give specific details in the letter.
Theletter needs to be concise and related only to the topic under discussion.
You should adopt a formal tonein such a letter and avoid slang.
Based on the recipient of theletter, they are sub-divided into two categories. Some of the

These are not as frequent inthe exam and are also similar to letters that you have practised in
school
