IMAGE 1 MAIN CONNECTIONS FOR FIRMWARE UPDATE
and you have finished. Fonnect the AVR proframmer and upgrade with the firmware
of your choice after ma3ing an origina! "C firmware /ac3up in case you want to
rep!ace it in origina! order. 8ow the system is more capa/!e2 has more choices in
mi#ing and programming and in co!a/oration with a good modu!e improoved range
0with :RS;< even to +3!m1.
89T7 :Any data transfer must /e o/tained with the modu!e&recievers in 9:: condition.
STR98B A>V5S7 * : in case you are going to ma3e a !ot of connections !i3e 5 did
connecting a!! the harware 5 cou!d2 it is a safer way to so!d sma!! pieces of fine wire to the
/oard pins and points prior and then proceed connecting the main wiring to these fine wires
using heat shrin3 tu/es to iso!ate them .
STR98B A>V5S7 + : use hot g!ue to cover any non iso!ated wire2 pin or resistance e#tention
on /oard and secure every on /oard so!ded connection2 to avoid /oardDs !ines missp!ace or
!ifting from the /oard surface accident!y. By that way you seccuring your 4o/ and giving a
true !ong !ife operation a/i!ity. Remem/er that this hardware and certain!y firmware update it
is for sure not the !ast one.
93.. 5f you want to do anything can /e done upgrading your "C continue
8ow you have to prepaire the wiring. This is the part of the 4o/ the most of the peop!e
getting worst.
:or a nice effective wor32 there is a carefu!! design needed.
Ge have some common !in3s here for our /oards to connect so we must prepair the
wires not to /e in cituation to rive&unso!dering some of them in order to fi# !ater the
missing connections.
PLAN YOUR MOVEMENTS
:irst you must prepair the T#d wire from the RS+H+ /oard to A9S5 in main /oard.
That needs a resistor to /e p!aced /etween connections.
As you can see in the wiring diagram this is a *I;ohm resistor 0red&/!ac3&orange1
The common connections are:
*. AVR with S> card /oard to Aain t# /oard 0if you intend to use S> card /oard1
VccJKV2 B8>2 F@; 0a!so ca!!ed S@;1
+. AVR with RS+H+ /oard to Aain t# /oard
A9S52 A5S9
H. S> /oard with * of the Aain /oard /ypass fine wires to pin )+ at the uper side
of the ATA7@() chip 0if you intend to use S> card /oard1
5f no Sd card is going to /e used the on!y common connections are the RS+H+ - AVR
to main /oard A5S9 - A9S5.
So you have to create the termina!s of these wires 0as the picture in my diagram1 for easy
and safety we!dings.
The /ypass connections are nessecary to /e using the thic3 fine wire2 cause the )*&)+
pins of the processor
are too de!icate and re.uiring c!ose attention on we!ding to avoid shorting them with
the neigh/oring ones.
0you can see them in the photo on the !eft !ow side of the diagram facing to the !eft2 /een shorted
together /y heat shring tu/e in red with the + sma!! ends2 appearing at the !eft side1.
Here is a diagram Ive made to get in mind the common in!s and have an icon
o" them.
Be!ieve me it is very usefu!! trying to ma3e the connections and in many cases you are
too confused a/out.
