I hope I am using the right address otherwise I request Muneer to forward this to you.
I have known and admired you for your love and respect for Ibne Safi and his novels. I
just have to tell you that these works are copyright materials and copying them in any
form print/electronic is illegal. M/s Asrar Publications is actively publishing these novels
and all rights are reserved.
So as a first thing, I would request you to Volantarily remove the pdf versions or links to
those, from your web pages and uphold the rights of your favourite author whose main
aim was to propagate the Respect of Law (Qanoon ka Ehtraam.)
If you would not stand side by side with me and the Ibne Safi family which includes your
dear friend Muneer, then we would be left to think that Ibne Safi Fans are fans for the
sake of reading his works but not learning from it.
I hope you would consider the point of view of the copyright holders and would be
amongst the protectors of the rights not violators of the same.
Sincerely,
Ahmad Safi

Dear Rashid... AA
I am deeply moved by your response. I am glad you could see our point of view. Yes,
eSnips is brimming with PDF's of Ibne Safi works but that does not make it legal or right.
In the USA, Napster had to get it's act straight when recording companies really sued
them for illegal copies of copyright albums. Obviously when I ask eSnip to uphold the
copyright laws they tell me to point out each and every file to them before they could
remove it from the web site. This is ridiculous.
Having you by our side gives me strength. HanIf Bhai's www.ibnesafi.info is now the
official Ibne Safi Web Site and we all have to make it stronger in content. It is a non-
commercial site anyway and is a result of the labor of his love. So your supplying the
images/articles to it is really appreciated.
Insha Allah pretty soon there is a company which legally want to distribute the electronic
versions of these books and have asked us to get into a contract with them. They want
to do it despite the fact that almost all the books are available freely. They want to do it
to show people that there are Pakistanis who abide by law and even though it may not
be a very profitable business proposition, they are moving forward with it. We are
considering to support them for the sake of all writers who get short changed by piracy.
Please do stay in touch with us and with Hanif Bhai. There is another outlet in the
meantime that you may want to look at: www.FaceBook.com/ibnesafi
