SGD La Granja lleva ms de 250 aos fabricando vidrio, transformando
las materias primas en piezas de formas atrevidas y llenas de luz.
Desde las hermosas lmparas que sirvieron para adornar los salones del
Palacio de La Granja, fabricadas a mediados del siglo XVIII, hasta las
complicadas piezas que constituyen el techo de la biblioteca del moderno
Museo Reina Sofa de Madrid, muchos hombres y mujeres han trabajado
con nosotros durante generaciones con un objetivo inalterado: calidad e
innovacin.
El vidrio prensado tiene una larga tradicin en SGD La Granja. En sus
orgenes de un modo casi artesanal para fabricar bloques sencillos,
baldosas, tejas de vidrio y ceniceros, y desde hace varias dcadas con
los ms modernos y automatizados medios de produccin.
SGD La Granja, nico fabricante nacional, ha estado siempre a la
vanguardia tecnolgica, lo que nos permite poner a su disposicin toda

SGD La Granja has been making glass for more than 250 years, transforming
the raw materials into pieces of various forms full of light.
From the beautiful lamps that served to decorate the halls of the Royal Palace
of La Granja, made about the middle of the XVIII century, to the complicated
pieces that constitute the ceiling of the library of the modern Museum Reina
Sofa in Madrid, many men and women have been working with us throughout
generations with a permanent objective: quality and innovation.
The pressed glass has a long tradition in SGD La Granja. In its origins,
solid blocks, pavers, roof tiles and ashtrays were made in an artisan way,
contrasting with the modern and automated production machines used in
the last decades.

Cortar el bastidor segn las
dimensiones previstas a
inglete (45), desmembrando
un trozo del ala de los perfiles
que forman uno de los ngulos
superiores, de manera que
permita la introduccin de la
ltima hilada de moldeados.
Estas alas debern guardarse
para pegarlas una vez
finalizada la construccin del
tabique.
Cut the frame according to
the dimensions at 45 angle,
dismounting a piece of the
framework of the profiles that form
one of the superior angles, so that

3.
Armar el bastidor en el
suelo, fijndolo en sus cuatro
ngulos mediante escuadras
metlicas.

Situar el bastidor en el hueco
para marcar los puntos de

Taladrar y situar los tacos de

Fijacin del bastidor a obra

Colocar la primera fila

Cuas
Sern de madera, seccin rectangular, con ancho de 35 mm, espesores variables de 5 a 10 mm, y
longitud aproximadamente igual a las juntas verticales.
Puntos de jacin
La jacin del bastidor a la obra se efectuar mediante tornillos y tacos de plstico. Los tornillos
sern de cabeza plana 4 a 5 mm y longitud variable segn la holgura entre el bastidor y la obra,
colocndose a tresbolillo cada 45 cm aproximadamente.
Dimensiones de utilizacin
Dimensiones del hueco de la obra en funcin del nmero y tipo de moldeados. La dimensin en el
recuadro indica el lado del moldeado al que est referida la dimensin del hueco.

Wedges
They shall be made out of wood, with an angle section of 35 mm width, variable thickness between
5 and 10 mm, and with approximately the same length as the vertical joints.
Fixing points
The xing of the frame must be made with screws and plastic stoppers. The screws shall have plain
head, 4 to 5 mm, and variable length depending on the space between frame and work, placed
in a triangular pattern every 45 cm.
Sizes used
The size of the work should be calculated according to the number and type of glass blocks. The
dimensions in the chart show the side of the glass blocks to which the size of the hole is referred.

SGD La Granja promueve y colabora en proyectos y diseos de nueva
creacin, hacindolos posible gracias a un espritu de innovacin, un alto
nivel tecnolgico, y a un gran equipo de profesionales.
Valga de ejemplo la pieza de vidrio utilizada en la ampliacin del
Museo Nacional de Arte Contemporneo Reina Sofa, cuyo diseo fue
encomendado al prestigioso arquitecto Jean Nouvel y ejecutado por
Bellapart Engineering.
SGD La Granja fabric las piezas de vidrio en forma de cubo, utilizados
para formar parte del techo de su nueva biblioteca. Estos cubos, cuya
transparencia permite el paso de la luz, se integran en una bveda de
acero y vidrio, que hace las funciones de una lmpara natural.
Una de las caractersticas ms destacadas de estas piezas es el texturado
piramidal de su base, encargado de dispersar los rayos de luz que pasan
por su interior.
Nuestra participacin en el proyecto ha abarcado desde el inicio del diseo
hasta su industrializacin, trabajando con las herramientas de diseo ms
avanzadas y con unos medios de produccin especcos para llevar a
cabo el proyecto.

SGD La Granja promotes and collaborates in projects and designs of
new creation, making them possible thanks to an innovation spirit, a high
technological level and a great team of professionals.
Is worth mentioning the piece of glass used in the extension of the National
Museum of Contemporary Art Reina Sofa, whose design was entrusted to
the prestigious architect Jean Nouvel and it was carried out by Bellapart
Ingineering.
SGD La Granja manufactured pieces of cube-shaped glass, used to
comprise the ceiling of their new library. These cubes, whose transparency
allows the light to pass through, are integrated in a vault of steel and glass,
that works as a natural lamp.
One of the most outstanding characteristics of these pieces is the pyramid-
shape texture of its base, being in charge of dispersing the light rays that
pass through their interior.
Our involvement in the project goes from the beginning of the design to
its industrialization, working with the best design tools and with specic
production machinery to carry out the project.
Piezas de vidrio translcido, macizas o huecas, que se obtienen por el prensado de una masa
fundida de vidrio en unos moldes de los que toman su forma. Se destinan a la construccin de
pisables y paramentos verticales. Estos bloques de vidrio pueden ser:
- Simples: constan de un solo elemento macizo que ha sido constituido en el molde.
- Dobles: formados por dos elementos independientes que, soldados entre s, dan lugar a una sola
pieza con cmara de aire.

INFORMACIN TCNICA
Principios generales de colocacin
Los tabiques debern ir independientes de la obra, mediante una junta de dilatacin perimentral.
Los redondos de acero (armadura) no debern estar en contacto con el vidrio, y adems, debern
ir totalmente cubiertos por el hormign. Los tabiques para moldeados simples no podrn ser en
ninguna de sus dimensiones superior a 3 m, ni exceder de 6 m
2
. Los tabiques para moldeados
dobles no podrn ser en ninguna de sus dimensiones superior a 5 m, ni exceder de 20 m
2
de
supercie. Pasando de estas dimensiones en ambos casos, debern fraccionarse en varios
paneles, introducindose entre ellos juntas de dilatacin y estanqueidad.

Junta de independencia
Los paneles irn desligados del
resto de la obra, observndose los
correspondientes juegos de fondo
y teniendo en cuenta las posibles
exiones de las vigas.

Coefcient of acoustic isolation in dB (A), for noise of trafc:

Optical Properties
The following coefcients of luminous transmission only make reference to the piece of glass
block, but they do not take into consideration the masonry joints. These joints will vary the luminous
transmission of the whole, depending on their width (1-3 cm).

General principles of installation
The partition walls should be independent of the brickwork, by means of a surrounding expansion
joint. The steel armour should not be in contact with the glass, and, also, it should be completely
covered by concrete. The partitions for single glass blocks will not be in any form superior in
dimensions to 3 m, neither exceed 6 m

. The partitions for double hollow glass blocks will not be in
any of their dimensions superior to 5 m. Neither should they exceed 20 m in surface. Passing of these
dimensions should be fractioned in several panels, introducing expansion joints and watertight.
SETTING IN WORK
SINGLE AND DOUBLE HOLLOW GLASS BLOCKS
Mortar
Mix:
- 1 volume of cement
type I or II, category 35.
- 3 volumes of washed
river sand.
Armour
Between Glass Blocks:
1 rod of 6 mm
Mortar between glass blocks
Between: minimum 1 cm.
On all sides: minimum 2 cm.
Independent Joints
The panels will go untied of the rest
of the work, by means of surrounding
expansion joints and keeping in
mind the possible exions of the
beams.

De independencia y dilatacin:
Las placas debern ir desligadas perimetralmente del resto de la obra as como entre ellas.
Nervio de mortero
Entre Moldeados: 3, 4 5 cm.
Perimetrales: (3 + 1,5 X espesor de la placa) cm.
La entrega de la placa en los apoyos ser como mnimo (1,5 X espesor de la placa) cm.
Armadura: Acero AEH400
El dimetro se determinar en cada caso segn dimensiones y sobrecarga.
En ningn caso el acero estar en contacto con el vidrio.
Siempre deber ir embebida en el hormign y a distancia no inferior a 1 cm del exterior de la placa.

of the work as well as among each other.

Between the glass blocks: 3, 4 or 5 cm.

The resting of the glass block in the supports will be a minimum of (1,5 X thickness of the block) cm.
