Credit Point Requirements for Receiving SU

When you receive SU, there is a credit point requirement that you must meet. The credit point requirement is an expression of your study
progress, ie. your study activities. Please be aware that the SU rules on study activity differ from the administrative rules on study activity.

The SU office at DTU determines whether you meet the credit point requirement and thus comply with the study activity requirements.
Within seven months of your study start, we check whether you have started your programme. As there is no compulsory attendance at
DTU, we look at whether you have been to the exam. However, there is no requirement that you must have passed the exam. Then we
regularly check your study activities. If we find that you do not meet the credit point requirements to receive SU, we have to declare you
study inactive and stop your SU.

In the table above, you can see how many credit points you must have earned in order to get a specific instalment. Please note that it is the
number of obtained credit points that count - not course registrations or exam registrations.

When you receive SU, the SU office will check whether you fulfill the credit point requirements. If you do not meet the requirements, we
have to declare you study inactive. You are only entitled to SU from the month you have achieved the required number of credit points, and
you can only apply for SU from this month. You will also be eligible for grants and loans, if you have signed up for your final project even
though you do not meet the credit point requirements.
