Skills and Qualities

AutoCAD
In one of my project design assignments, I had to draw the schematic diagrams as
well as the physical layout of a giant one Megawatt grid-connected PV system. I used
AutoCAD to complete all these drawings within a limited time period. During the
presentation, my AutoCAD drawing was commented as clear and professional by the

supervisor.
Thanks to the outstanding education offered by UNSW, I am also proficient in other
computing programs related to Photovoltaics, including: Ecotect; PC1D; PVSYST;
Office Excel; Office Word; Matlab.

Language
Mandarin Native speaker
English Fluent, IELTS Speaking 7.5, overall score 7.5

Communication and dispute solving

I attended the Exploring Leadership Workshop held by UNSW Student Career
Service and gained a deeper understanding of workplace communications. I resolved
a dispute between my groupmates by applying communication skills. In doing a
group assignment, one of the group members came up with a new idea but not in line
with the original plan. He had a big argument with another group member and
claimed to quit. I talked to him and encouraged him to finish his idea as
supplementary to the whole project. As a result, our assignment was finished on time
and got 38 out of 40.

Initiative
This is the most common appraisal I’ve got from my previous employers. Worked as
a manual laborer in Woolworths Randwick, I was quickly authorized to assist the
store manager in doing storage management. According to my manager, the reason
was I showed initiative in the first 2 months, and he thought I became familiar with
the job very fast.

Extra-Curricular Activities
2007 Campus Church Volunteer
QUT Student Life
 Organized discussion groups each week for overseas
students to help them practice English.
2009 October Volunteer - Sustainable House Day
 Demonstrated the concept of Sustainable House to the
public
 Answered customer enquires that related to renewable
energy and passive solar design.
