USEFUL PROFILE PARAMETERS SAP delivers its software with some default settings for all its profile parameters. These profiles can be edited by adding new parameters and by adjusting the values of the existing parameters as per the customers requirements. SAP comes with three profiles: 1. DEFAULT.PFL 2. INSTANCE Profile 3. STARTUP Profile The parameters set in these profiles effect the performance of the entire system. Following are some of the important parameters profiles wise. DEFAULT.PFL Parameter Description sapsystemname System Id for the R/3 System. It of 3 characters sapdbhost Name of the Database Server sna_gateway Name of the machine on which sna_gateway is running sna_gwservice SNA gateway port rdsip/mshost MessageServer server name rdisp/vbname Instance whose update service functions as a dispatcher for updates rdisp/enqname Instance that provides the Enqueue service rdisp/btcname Instance that provides the Event Scheduler rdisp/bufrefmode Parameters for synchronizing the buffers in distributed system : For Central Instance : sendoff/exeauto For a Distributed System : sendon/exeauto SAP R/3 Document : Profile Parameters Compiled By : P.
