League Constitution

Fantasy Football League Constitution

This is the constitution of The League Fantasy Football League. This league
exists in order to settle old GOYA basketball and Camp Nazareth disputes and to
add fun to the NFL season.

The League consists of 10 owners. For the 2014 season, these owners are Daly,
Jake Delis, Nikita Fedkin, Tommy Fitzpatrick, Nick Goussetis, Mike Mavrides,
John Spanky Panos, Evan Bittner, Michael Stop-Sign Elliott, and John
Petrolias.

This constitution may be referenced throughout the year, and rules supreme
throughout the 2014 fantasy football season. By paying league fees, drafting,
participating in The League, etc., owners of teams in The League are
acknowledging that they have read, understood, and agree with every part of this
constitution.

I. League Fees

a. The League has a league fee of $15. This fee will be due before
exactly one week before draft day. Failure to pay league fees on
time will result in penalties up to loss of draft picks, monetary fines,
mandatory Sacko punishments, and relegation from the league, as
determined by the league commissioner.

II. Roster Size and Scoring

a. Rosters will consist of 16 players, 9 of which are starters (1 QB, 2
RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex (RB/WR/TE), 1 D/ST, 1 K, 7 bench).

b. There are limits on how many players a team can have at each
position:

i. Quarterback- 4 maximum
ii. Running Back- 5 maximum
iii. Wide Receiver- 5 maximum
iv. Tight End- 3 maximum
v. Flex (RB/WR/TE)- N/A
vi. Defense/Special Teams- 3 maximum
vii. Kicker- 2 maximum

c. These limits will prevent teams from stashing too many players on
their benches, but also allow freedom as to which players to put on
their bench.

d. Head to head points scoring will be used.

e. Scoring will be based on the ESPN standard scoring, as outlined on
ESPN. Reference: http://sports.espn.go.com/fantasy/football/ffl/stor
y?page=fflrulesstandardscoring

III. Determining draft order

a. The draft order will be determined through the use of an electric
lottery machine containing 10 balls, or 10 slips of paper in a hat.
This event will require the attendance of at least three league
members, including the league commissioner, or the assistant to the
league commissioner in his place if he cannot attend, and must be
documented live or be verified through an official third party source
(ESPN, etc.). This event will take place at least one week before the
draft so that team owners can have preparation time for the draft.

b. Each year, the draft order will be decided by giving each team one
ball in the machine.

IV. Draft

a. The league commissioner will determine the draft date.

b. Once the draft order is determined, the draft will be in snake format
(1st pick in round 1, has last pick in round 2, and so forth).

c. The 16 round draft will be performed either online via ESPN or in
person. For those not attending the draft, a draft Google Hangout
will take place during the duration of the draft to allow socializing
and trash talking, as well as an online draft as to not deprive any
owners not at the event of available stats and rankings.

d. Owners will have a time limit of 90 seconds per pick.

e. Before the draft, draft pick trading is allowed if done through the
ESPN trading process and the league manager is notified

f. During the draft, draft pick trading and trading players who have just
been drafted is allowed but MUST be announced to the league and
league manager via the draft chat and on the draft Google Hangout.

g. Free agent pickups, trades, and other roster transactions will be
allowed immediately following the draft and must be conducted via
ESPNs process.

V. Regular Season

a. All teams are responsible to make sure their lineups are updated
before kickoff of each game.

b. Each regular season matchup will be one week, and the team with
the most points wins.

c. There is no tiebreaker for regular season games.

d. The regular season will end after the completion of week 12.

VI. Trades and Acquisitions

a. There will be no cost to a team to acquire players from free agency
or via trades, and there is no limit on acquisitions throughout the
season or for a particular matchup.

b. A waiver system will be used for free agents. The waiver order will
reset each week to inverse order of standings, and will be done
automatically by ESPN. There is a 1-day waiver period for dropped
players and other players on waivers.

c. Trades will be allowed from the end of the draft until the trading
deadline as outlined on the league settings page.

d. Each team owner not involved in the trade has the right to vote
against any trade. 6 votes are required to overturn a trade. All votes
must be collected within 48 hours of the trade
announcement. Failure to reach 6 votes will result in the trade being
allowed.

e. Loaning players will not be allowed. A team cannot, for example,
trade a QB to another team that has their QB on a bye week, and
then trade the same two players to the other team to cover for the
other team that has their QB on a bye week. At the league
commissioners discretion, teams found to be breaking this rule can
face monetary punishments and Sacko punishments, as well as loss
of draft picks.

VII. Playoffs

a. The two round, four-team playoff will take place during weeks 13-
16.

b. Seeding is based on regular season records and the subsequent
tiebreakers outlined by ESPN and are generated automatically by
ESPN. Playoff seedings are not debatable.

c. Each round will be two weeks, using an aggregate scoring system.
i. Example:
1. Week 13 score: 80
2. Week 14 score: 75
3. Total score for first round: 155

d. The tiebreaker for playoff matchups is total aggregate starting QB
points scored for the 2014 season. For the 2015 season it will be
total aggregate starting RB points scored, for 2016-WR, for 2017-
TE. This rotation will continue as long as the league operates.

e. Round one will feature two matchups: the 1 and 4 seeds, the 2 and 3
seeds.

f. The Shiva Bowl Championship game will consist of the winners of
each first round matchup and take place in weeks 15 and 16.

g. The third place game will consist of the two losers of the first round
matchup and also take place in weeks 15 and 16.

h. The Sacko Bowl will take place in weeks 15 and 16 and will be
between the 9th and 10th place teams according to regular season
records. If there is a tie, contrary to regular playoff seedings, weeks
13 and 14 will feature matchups of the tied teams to see who loses
and is sent to the Sacko Bowl.

i. The loser of the Sacko Bowl is The Sacko, and is subject to
punishment that will be determined by the league commissioner
along with other league members. Suggestions are encouraged, but
the final approval is in the league commissioners hands and must be
communicated by the league commissioner. In the case that the
league commissioner is the Sacko, the leagues vice-commissioner
will have the authority to approve Sacko punishments. All Sacko
punishments must be legal.

j. Sacko punishments can also be given to any team owners that
abandon their teams at any point in the season, at the league
commissioners discretion.

k. The Sacko will be awarded a Cleveland Browns jersey with the
number 69 and Sacko for the name. The Sacko must wear this
jersey on game day the next season on at least 4 of the 12 regular
season weeks. A picture of their adherence to this rule will be
required to be posted on the league message boards. Failure to
comply with this rule will result in possible loss of draft picks and
monetary punishments, which will be delegated at the league
commissioners discretion.

VIII. Awards and Payouts

a. It is understood that money is a big motivator, and monetary prizes
will be given at the end of the season for teams performances. No
monetary prizes will be awarded in the first year of the league other
than a $50 prize to the Shiva Bowl Champion because of the costs to
buy the Shiva Bowl Championship trophy and the traveling Sacko
Browns jersey.

b. Starting in the leagues second year, the winner of the Shiva Bowl
Championship and the runner up will be given prizes of $50 and $20
respectively. The winner of the Shiva Bowl Championship will also
receive the leagues traveling Shiva Bowl Championship
trophy. This trophy will be given to the current champion of the
league, and it is the defending champions responsibility to ensure
that the trophy passes hands in a responsible and appropriate
manner. If possible, the trophy should attend the draft.

c. Because teams cannot play defense and there is a certain luck factor
in fantasy football, sometimes the team that scores the most points
throughout the season will not win the championship. To
compensate for this, the team that scores the most points throughout
the season and playoffs combined will receive a cash prize of
$20. This provides an additional motivating factor for non-playoff
teams to continue to set their lineups in case theyre in the running
for the scoring championship.

d. The playoff teams will also receive a $15 prize for their
success. This will cover their cost to play in the league.

e. These monetary rewards can be won in combination. For example, a
team can be in the playoffs ($10 reward), the runner up ($20
reward), and the scoring champion ($30 reward), accumulating $60
total in rewards. The maximum payout is $100 per year.

f. Payouts:
i. League Champion ($60)
ii. Runner up ($20)
iii. Scoring Champion (most points scored throughout season and
playoffs) ($30)
iv. $10 for playoff teams

IX. Integrity of the League

a. It will be the owners' responsibility to go to the league page on
ESPN to track trades, free agents, messages made by the league, and
to set your lineup. Should a situation arise that needs immediate
attention, the league commissioner will do their best to handle the
situation alone, or if time permitting, with the help of the
league. Should we encounter absentee owners, cheaters, or anything
else that may harm the welfare of the league, the commissioner will
have sole power to enforce any judgments, fines, or penalties that are
deemed necessary under league rules.

b. No new franchise shall be granted nor any new owner recognized,
except under the retirement of a current owner due to health,
finances, or replacing a booted owner. Any new owner who takes
over a vacated team will adhere to all rules and policies in effect
under this constitution.

c. Any problems, concerns, or discrepancies will be at least heard by
the league to help ensure the welfare of the league.

X. Commissioners Oath

a. Because the commissioner has much authority in deciding
punishments, has the ability to alter teams lineups, and settle
disputes, they must take the following oath before each season at the
live draft or must post a video of him doing so on the league
message boards:

i. I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the Office
of Commissioner of The League, and will to the best of my
ability, preserve, protect, and defend the constitution of the
league. Its ____ (enter time of day here), and Michigan still
sucks. God bless America and God bless these fools that
have given me their money to play fake football. Amen. "

XI. Amendments

a. Any amendments to this constitution must be made during the
offseason and by a majority vote (at least 6 of the 10 owners vote
yes). All amendments proposed during the season will be reviewed
at the end of the current season and not be made applicable to the
current season. To be clear, this amendment cannot be altered
during the season.
