What is Practicum?
Component to fulfil the requirement for Bachelor of IT with
Honors (BIT (Hons)).

Practicum code for BIT : STIX 3998/3912

Duration: 6 months at the organization

Purposes:

To expose the students to real working environment
To enhance the students knowledge through exposure to
industrial/organizations operation
To provide opportunities for the students to conduct real
tasks/projects in a more challenging environment

1: Registration/placement
2: Practicum workshop
3: Meeting with UUM supervisor
4: Report duty at the organization
5: Report duty form to be sent to PPA/CUIC
6: Proposal submission
7: Practicum visit
8: Project presentation: visiting supervisor or
*(9: Project presentation: UUM lecturer)
10: Report draft submission
11: Submission of PRAK01 form, log book,
attendance
12: Final report submission: printed & CD

Problem?
Before practicum starts: deal directly with CUIC
After practicum began: report to UUM supervisor (DONT deal directly with CUIC)

Permission to use Malay will be given only for special cases*

Presentation
Ideal: attended by both company supervisor & visiting lecturer in the same session

Report draft
A complete report submitted before report submission dues
Will be evaluated (*refer PRAK02 form)

Will be supervised by TWO (2) supervisors:

Lecturer as UUMs supervisor (SoC - CAS)
Companys Supervisor (Organization)

and

Visiting Lecturer (SoC - CAS)
