Department of MASTER OF COMPUTER APPLICATIONS(MCA)

Department of Master of Computer Applications (MCA) was established in the
year 2009-2010 with an intake of 60 students, with the approval of AICTE and affiliated to the
JNTU, Kakinada. Within a short span of 4 years the department has grown to a level in terms of
infrastructural and academic standards on par with other premier institutions in the state. The
department has acquired latest hardware and software.
Objectives:

Providing basic foundations of different areas of Computer Applications
Providing specializations in the fields of Networking, Web applications, Database
Management Systems and so.
Cultivating the students who have keen interest in the area of Computer Applications and to
help them to start their career in their desired field by awarding them with the Masters
Degree when they complete.
Acquiring communication skills
Acquiring soft skills
Obtaining practical knowledge through seminars and projects
Acquiring exhaustive Industry / Services Organization
Providing specialization in computer Applications with technical, professional and
communications skills.

Academics:
Postgraduate MASTER OF COMPUTER APPLICATION(MCA).

The MCA program aims at preparing the students to take up application, research and
development activities in core and some emerging areas in Computer Applications , with focus
on Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security and related applications in a distributed computing
environment and program includes advanced level courses in computer architecture, Networking,
Algorithms, Data Bases, Distributed Computing and Computational intelligence.
Faculty:
The department has dedicated and qualified faculty with vast academic, industrial and
research experience. The department has expertise in the research areas Cloud Computing,
Network security, web design and Data Mining and Data warehousing. Faculty members are
continually publishing the results of their research work in international/national journals and
conferences.

Research and Consultancy:
The department strives to enhance the knowledge of the faculty by continuously
undertaking/organizing research programmes in the form of projects, conferences, seminars,
workshops, training, guest lectures, symposiums, etc. The department aims at the innovative and
technological development through academic and research collaboration between the management
and local industries and to meet the current as well as futuristic needs of the industry and Society.
Publications:
The faculty of the department has published 15 research papers in reputed
national/international journals and 20 technical papers in various national/international
conferences.
Cutting-edge laboratories & facilities
The Department of MCA has an advanced computational laboratory equipped with sixty
desktops running latest version of windows and Linux operating systems and these entire desktop
are products from wipro. A LAN connects all the desktops to the central network and servers are
used for advanced computational simulation and course work.
Major events and achievements:
The department continuously organizes training programmes for the faculty and students
such as conferences, seminars, workshops, guest lectures, symposiums, etc.

The MCA Department effectively prepares students to pursue leadership, technical, and
management positions in a variety of industries. Students have obtained successful placements at
leading Multinational Companies.

Other Salient features
The department has a separate library, research centre with the latest state-of-the-art
equipment, special emphasis on entrepreneurship, focused training on academic, research and
placements in advanced areas are conducted in every semester etc.
