Name of regulations
These regulations are the Children and Young People Regulations
2000.
Commencement
These regulations commence on the day they are notified in the
Gazette.
Definition
In these regulations:
the Act means the Children and Young People Act 1999.
Agreementsprescribed States
For subsection 133 (2) of the Act, the following States are declared
to have enacted legislation dealing with the interstate transfer of young
offenders:
(a) New South Wales;
(b) Victoria;
(c) Queensland.
Prescribed forms 175
An application to register an agreement under section 175 (which
deals with registration of family group conference agreements) of the Act
must
(a) ask that the agreement be registered; and
(b) list anyone who took part in the conference but did not sign the
agreement.
Prescribed forms 270
An application for a warrant under section 270 (which deals with
warrants for taking a child or young person into safe custody) of the Act
must
(a) state the name of the applicant; and
(b) describe the order that has been contravened; and
(c) describe the situation that has led to the making of the application.

Modification of ch 17 of the Act
(1) Chapter 17 of the Act is modified by inserting after section 425 the
following section:
425A Agreements and arrangements about interstate transfer
(1) An agreement made under section 69B (Minister may enter into
general agreements) of the repealed Act, and in force immediately before
the commencement day, is taken to be an agreement under section 133 of
this Act.
(2) An arrangement made under section 69C (Arrangements for
transfergeneral) for the transfer of a particular young offender, and in
force immediately before the commencement day, is taken to be an
arrangement under section 134 of this Act..
(2) This regulation ceases to have effect on the expiry of Chapter 17 of
the Act.
