!D%L uses standard telephone lines to transmit upstream and do*nstream data on
a digital (reEuenc3, *hich sets these data streams apart (rom the analog signals
telephones and (a6 machines use4 Aecause the !D%L signal is operating on a di((erent
(reEuenc3, the telephone can 5e used normall3, even *hen sur(ing the De5 *ith !D%L
