Discourse after Zuhr by Shaykh Ahmad Dabbagh

By the fazl of Allah upto now you have heard about the pit falls, fitnah, that when a person
separates ilm and amal. Way of sahabah was that as soon as command came (they would do
it). Secondly I mentioned what will keep the flame of motivation alive, those things were
mentioned in the journey of man, and the need to refresh this. Like a food you eat in 24
hours it will be processed. Similarly a knowledge you learn, if not processed it will lose it
motivational aspects. Then we mentioned the harms and benefits following and not
following Allah. Then we mentioned the 4 conditions, then we mentioned the first battle
between you and shaytaan, the seven organs of the body. You cannot fight with 7 people in
the beginning, but one and then others and it becomes easy. Then Hazrat Ali
(radhiAllahuanhu) mentioned Allah provided physical food for us but who will have to eat
the food, that told no one can do but you. Parents and governments are facilitators, you
choose which one to eat. They have provided you. Similarly the spiritual sun is Rasoolullah
(sallallahu alayhe wasallam) the spiritual oxygen is the remembrance of Allah but to eat
that/act upon that is in your court. Who can control the stomach instead of you? Allah gives
taufiq, people are confused about this word. They think someone else will do for you. Taufiq
means the means are available for you to do. The initial taufiq is Rasoolullah (sallallahu
alayhe wasallam) has come (sunnah) and with the with Quran. You have money and health
you have taufiq for hajj. You have water for wudhu and healthy body for Salah. Some say
"Allah didn't give us taufiq I pray that's why we didn't.

They could come up with this (false idea). A husband provide for his wife and provides
everything, fruits, fridge etc. He comes tired from work and he ask "theres no food?", she
says there's no taufiq from you. He says "I've provided everything for you." It is taufiq of a
stick of hell for them who say like this regarding Allah. (She had all the means to do it as we
do). If someone asks for taufiq I ask them "are you disabled?".

Second level of taufiq Allah increase you in guidance by the minimum level we need He has
given.

Main discourse

Every brick is the good thought which you possess. The cement seals every good thought
with reliance in Allah and will power of dismissing/deflecting every evil whisper.

"The stronger one's remembrance the stronger the walls of closeness will be."

If no cement a small child could push down.

It is even stronger when it has remembrance/presence of Allah in mind.

If you want to make doors and windows even safer you need to make the walls stronger.
This purification of mind - windows and doors will not protect if walls are missing.

"The evil whispers are like the wind of shaytaan which always attempts to knock down the
house of closeness."

If you have strong walls the wind, snow, rain are outside, (from which) you are safe inside
because of the strong walls.

On the bridge of tazkiyah, after purification of organs, next is purification of mind. If you fall
off the bridge there is fire. Sins are fire.

"Every bad thought or evil whisper which you accept or allow in your mind it's like a brick
which is damaged or missing inside the house of closeness"

Today many of us are kept hostage in our own bodies. Because Shaytaan have entered and
taken us hostage. They will use your body against you now. Safest way is not to let them in.

"Shaytaan has taken many people hostage by (making you) become addicted to evil desires.
Some over power him with repentance and have taken back what is theirs."

He is killing his own wife and children because shaytaan have possessed him.

Your first family members are your 7 organs, then your wife and children. You need to be
good with the 7 organs first, then wife and children.

They might be abusing the wife's right and harming their children. How many spouses are
crying they never see happiness, "give me this give me that" and they are suffering in
silence. Whats happening is because of me and you because we didn't convey the message
of tazkiyah to them. Whats happening in Palestine. In past 1400 years Jewish people have
taken refuge in Muslim lands. Islam believes if others are doing Zulm (oppression) it
commands to help those people. Even though they are under so much pressure, it is our
fault. Islam is not fully established there. The Zionist could've not done this if people stood
with Allah.

Sultan Ayubi (rahimahullah) was a person from Iraq, once the non Muslims were doing zulm
on Muslims and once he heard it was a big warrior that martyred a (Muslim) people in
caravan. He (warrior) said to them "call your prophet Muhammad to help you." It affected
him so much he said "I will not rest until I teach this person who (insults) Rasoolullah
(sallallahu alayhe wasallam) like this" he didn't sleep for many month, only whilst sitting but
not lying on the ground. When this caravan was brought and this person was there he said "I
am one of the dogs of Muhammad Rasoolullah (sallallahu alayhe wasallam). I will not
tolerate someone saying this." He forgave the others but gave him (warrior) weaponry and
fought him and tore him to pieces.

We have not been able to convey the message. We are responsible aswell. Everyone is
responsible. If one person goes astray whole ummah is answerable.

Shaytaan takes our own jewel. Because if not having this a husband is doing zulm on wife,

country on country, a person has ran away with someone's money, children being
kidnapped and abused. These are all the affects of not getting the message.

Quran said "the orphans should not be had pity on, they should be honoured".

How do we build these walls, you have to train.

"If one continues to allow evil whispers then the wind will one day destroy your entire
house and it will collapse"

This sine begins somewhere. You cannot stop whispers but you have the choice. Hadith -
"Allah has forgiven any bad whisper that enters the mind of my ummah unless they act
upon it or speak about it"

When a person refuses abdominal acts to women, it elevates your status and you get shade
under Allah's throne on day of judgement. If she didn't invite you would have normal
position.

Use evil thought positively. You like someone shooting you and your turning bullets in
chocolate and apple and pizza. If you don't learn the technique then it will hurt you.

You should think "I can get goodness from these shaytaanic thoughts" it will raise your
degree and your closeness then I think shaytaan will stop doing it if you are doing this.

Allah said in surah naas "say by The Lord of the people the absolute owner of people the
god of people, from the EVIL of the whispers of shaytaan"

He can even put thoughts in the minds of prophets. Qurah "shaytaan put whisper in their
(Adam alayhissalam and Hawa (radhiAllahuanha)) hearts, to go near that tree"

When whisper comes "ask refuge from the evil of the whisper" EVIL of it is to act upon it. If
you don't act upon it, then that whisper becomes a means for you to become closer to Allah
and Jannah

When a person intends evil, the angel on the left side is subordinate and the angel on the
right is Amir (leader). He says to the Amir "shall I write a sin". He says "no". Now the person
goes to the place, "no", then he commits the sin "no we have been instructed to wait 6
periods (possible hours) before we write it down."

You have some time to repent and then it is as though it's not been written. Some time
passes and the angel asks "shall I write it" he (still) says not yet.

When a person intend to do bad but stops, the angel writes one good deed for not sinning.

The sparkle grows "you are trying to go to a point of no return". When a small candle (is lit)
you can blow and it will go. But when a house is on fire, even the fire brigade may not be
able to put it out.

The mind becomes enflamed and starts to take over. It's very hard to control now unless
one has a strong will power with the help of Allah." once a robber has come in it is harder to
keep them out.

Then the mind commands and orders the body to carry out the evil act. When the sin is
indulged in, the mind is darkened due to indulging in sin.

Route leading to salvation

Believers and pious people get more bad thoughts than bad people. Bad thoughts are for
those that are not doing it.

Hadith "we (sahabah) get such thoughts that we cannot say" Rasoolullah (sallallahu alayhe
wasallam) said do you like them. "No we hate them" they replied. Rasoolullah (sallallahu
alayhe wasallam) said "this is a sign of Iman". Robber goes to where there is something
precious. He wouldn't go to a hut in the forrest. Shaytaan wants to go where there is
treasure of Iman love of Allah.

Before you don't know you had Iman, now you know so it is good news.

In the book the levels are written. In the first level a person is taught to disregard any evil
thought and not entertain it and seek refuge in Allah. Second redirect the thought to Allah
or Rasoolullah (sallallahu alayhe wasallam) or hereafter. One should never fight with the
thought as that will make it stronger.

"O Allah I cannot do anything" then the means Allah has given you, will power, then start
thinking about something else even worldly. If you fight it head on you are helping shaytaan
because you are holding the bad thought yourself.

If there was something on the screen and you were told not to look at it, if you are there
and it is too it will be difficult so the easiest thing will be to change the channel.

1) seeking refuge in Allah exalted
2) using you will power to resist

This is war of thoughts. Allah has not given you less. Jinnat are not superior than human
beings. If he is binging bad thoughts I will bring good thoughts.

You will find sins of the body easy to abstains if you stop sins at this stage.

You again use the technique again and again. You are building a protective shield. Shaytaan
is hacker that puts viruses in your computer brain. In the world you install anti-virus system
and you keep updating it. Once you have the anti virus of 1 and 2 above. The computer is
installing and runs the anti virus. Both are needed.
If you keep on doing it then the anti virus becomes stronger then good thoughts are
developed in the mind. The shield protects you.

Imagine you say I have still think I will have a virus. If it's not coming then to worry.


Third stage purification of heart

The rooms in the house represent the third stage. The rooms will give warmth to those who
live in it.

"Every room has its character. Good character of sincerity humbleness" you will feel warm
and clean. Imagine if it was dirty and no floor boards.

"But those whose character have been corrupted with jealousy self likeness pride their
rooms shall be burning and making it unliveable"

Hadith "jealousy burns good deeds like fire burns wood"

How can the inhabitants live in peace. Outwardly you might look good but inside this is the
heart of a sinner. Good character is that raises the value of any property. Allah values those
who resemble Rasoolullah (sallallahu alayhe wasallam). Their inner self was filled with
peace and humility. Every creation recognised them. His greatest wish was only that "You
accept me as your servant"

Allah "now it is only me and you and whatever is except you I've created for you. "
Rasoolullah (sallallahu alayhe wasallam) "and whatever is except you I have left it outside
my heart"

Sayidina Abdul Qadir Jilani (rahimahullah) "if you found Allah, you found everything. If you
lost Allah, you lost everything" don't go for the kingdom, go for the heart of the king. Then
you will get more higher degrees than kutb and higher than Jannah.

One disciple asked his shaykh, "Are you kutb." "I am kutb or not, you should consider your
shaykh above kutb." "Are you gauth" "he said consider your shaykh above gauth" "then
what are you?" "Allah gathered all auliya and asked us all what we want. I said I want that I
don't want. He gave me such that no ear have heard about that." Allah "you left it to me" as
though he is saying "I don't want anything, I just want you" then He will give something
from his special treasures.

Major tazkiyah is purification of aqeedah. This is minor purification of qualities. This is like
an artery is blocked.

The furniture and decorations represent. "Those who follow the sunnah due to love of the
Rasoolullah (sallallahu alayhe wasallam) there house will be decorated with the most
beautiful items. Their furniture will be most expensive antique. Their house will be sparkling
with beauty.

Those who fail to follow sunnah their house will be empty. Those who follow due to pride
will have furniture but it enflamed. These are more higher than sunnahs of eating and

wearing, they are sunnahs but thy are very small sunnahs. Don't look down at the person
who doesn't (do small sunnahs). They might have a more important sunnah in them which
cannot be seen. Their heart is free from hatred and this is sunnah. Our people thinking "oh
he's not at our level he's not wearing our Amamah." People have singled out one colour,
"they are in my group." This means they are following sunnah but because of looking down
on others their furniture is enflamed because of belittling Muslims. Particularly shadhili
tareeq never adopt one type of Jubba or Amamah or cap. "We prefer to live like Rasoolullah
(sallallahu alayhe wasallam) like he was normal." He Rasoolullah (sallallahu alayhe
wasallam) wore robes from Europe and Yemen.

This causes division amongst Muslims, some even focus on the way the turban is tied. One
should not single out oneself or single out a group. Do not adopt one particular type. We are
obliged to follow Rasoolullah (sallallahu alayhe wasallam) not any group.

One person asked me which jamat I am from. I said "can you see this green dome. I am from
this jamat. Only because of this person I am wearing this."

This is also a variance. Different furniture. When you have flowers in a vase with different
colours they look very beautiful.

"Those who fail to follow sunnah will have a house empty filled with dirt and dust" they are
harsh with people. Pin pointing small things.

"Those with pride will have furniture enflamed" where is humbleness if you think you are
the best. You are arrogant as a jamat or as an individual. He has sunnah but it is on fire.
