Housing:

Student dormitories are offered by the Studentenwerk Frankfurt/Oder on campus. The Studentenwerk offers
in Cottbus six dormitories with one room apartments or single rooms in two- to five room apartments in
various sizes. Rent ranges from 160 to 320 Euros per month. The rooms are furnished and internet access is
usually available. The rents also include attendant expenses such as electricity.

Further information and online application are also available under: http://www.studentenwerk-frankfurt.de/

Health Insurance:

Students can only enroll at the university if they are insured with a health insurance company. All public
health insurance companies in Germany offer almost the same benefits, as well as special rates for
students. At present it costs approx. 68.00 Euro per month (until the age of 30). It is sufficient to get a health
insurance upon arrival in Germany. In case someone already has a health insurance from his home country,
he needs an exemption from the German insurance obligation. You can obtain that exemption at any
German public health insurance. Please note that you will only be exempted from a German health
insurance if you prove adequate coverage that is equivalent to a German insurance.
Travel insurances are not sufficient!

Language course:

BTU Cottbus offers an Intensive German Language Course three weeks before the start of the lecture
period. The course is free of charge for all exchange students.
