Description: A black and white fier advertising a graduate leadership conference.
Process: I began by creating a variety of different sketches for the design. I tested a couple
out on InDesign before settling on this one. I used black, grey, and white boxes to contrast the
strong triangle at the top of the page. I also used the whitespace to contrast the darkness of
the triangle. I then decided to put the picture and body copy on the bottom of the page, as
well as the logo, and I added the boxes for interest and repetition.
Message: The fier is trying to appeal to recent graduates who want to demonstrate poise and
professionalism in a business-like setting. It is also trying to show them how a learning confer-
ence could be benefcial to them and their career.
Audience: College graduate age, 22-28.
Top Things Learned: The importance of white space, and fow.

Event Flier
Description: A color full-bleed event ad to promote a fundraiser using only Microsoft Word.
Process (Programs, Tools, Skills): I found the image of the books online, and decided to use
the remove back ground setting to create a visually interesting line on the bottom of the
poster. I then copied the image and cut it in order to fll the whole bottom of the poster. I then
found a silhouette image of Sherlock Holmes (which already did not have an attached back
ground) and added to the poster. Afterwards, I found the desired font and typed my message.
Message: I am holding a book drive of Sherlock Holmes books (by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle) to
give to the homeless.
Audience: People who are familiar with literature who are looking to give to a good cause.
Color scheme and color names: The Triadic Wheel- blue, red and yellow.
Top Thing Learned: I learned how to use Microsoft effectively.

Photodesign
Description: A poster that demonstrates good photography work, and incorporates an appro-
priate color swatch in the design.
Process: I used photoshop in every step of this poster. I frst took the pictures, and edited
them through photoshop to look more vibrant and sharp. I then picked out a color scheme
(Green Monochromatic) and got to work. I warped a rectangle in order to give it curves and
a more organic look. I then added lines that followed the curve of the rectangle, to give it
a fowy feel. I then did the same thing with the words, to continue with the theme of being
blown away in the wind. And lastly, I used circles to demonstrate the color scheme.
Message: I wanted the poster to portray a organic, nature feel- the message is to get back into
nature.
Audience: Anyone who is interested in nature or wants to get inspired by nature.
Top Thing Learned: How to make a poster through photoshop. I alway assumed that pho-
toshop would only be good for editing photos, but I learned tons of ways to make a poster
through photoshop.
Color scheme: Green Monochromatic.
Title Font Name & Category: Serif.
Montage
Description: A slightly motivational poster with a strong message. I used an image of Robert
Frost as well.
Process: I selected a picture of a fence to use as the background, and then added the picture
of Robert Frost. I blended it into the fence to make it look as if it was painted on the fence. I
then added the quote.
Message: The message is to be cautious, which is made clear by the quote and the fence.
Audience: The audience is basically everybody .
Top Thing Learned: The top thing I learned was how to blend pictures in to create a montage.

joy baked goods.
Process (Programs, Tools, Skills): I used adobe Illustrator for both the stationary and the busi-
ness card. I frst found an image of a cupcake online, and then traced/drew over it using the
pen tool. After that, I flled in it using primary colors and choose a professional but fun font for
the text in the business card. For the stationary, I decided to use the same color scheme and
font as the business card.
