The concept of Tabarru is the main underlying principle in the Takaful system
making it free from uncertainty and gambling elements.

Definition of TPD (Any Occupation):-
The Person Covered as a result of injury, sickness, or disease, has not
performed any work for a continuous period of at least (6) consecutive
months solely due to the same injury, sickness, or disease; and
The Person Covered has been attended to by a Registered Medical
Practitioner and has undergone all reasonable and usual treatment
including rehabilitation for the injury, sickness, or disease; and
In our opinion, the Person Covered, despite optimal medical care /
treatment and rehabilitation efforts, is unable ever again to work in any
occupation or regular duties; and
For the purpose of the TPD (any occupation), it is immaterial whether a
business, occupation or regular duty is remunerated or not.

Definition of TPD (Suited Occupation):-
The Person Covered as a result of injury, sickness, or disease, has not performed any work for
a continuous period of at least (6) consecutive months solely due to the same injury,
sickness, or disease; and
The Person Covered has been attended to by a Registered Medical Practitioner and has
undergone all reasonable and usual treatment including rehabilitation for the injury, sickness,
or disease; and
In our opinion, the Person Covered, despite optimal medical care/treatment and
rehabilitation efforts, is unable ever again to work in:
Any occupation/regular duties for which he/she is reasonably qualified by knowledge, training or
experience;
Any full time/part time occupation/regular duties in the case that the Person Covered was not in
paid employment in the month immediately preceding the onset of Disability; and
For the purpose of the definition of TPD (Suited Occupation), it is immaterial whether a business,
occupation or regular duty is remunerated or not.

Benefit Waiver of Tabarru
oOnce a disability claim is established, the Tabarru' for the basic plan due since
the commencement of disability will be waived (provided that the disability
commences before the Person Covered reaches age 70) until the Person
Covered recovers. All Tabarru for the riders attached to the basic plan will still
continue to be charged.


Note:
NO refund of any Tabarru due more than one (1) year prior to the date of receipt
of the notice of claim.

This is a comprehensive critical illness protection rider which allows certificate owner to
make claims upon early diagnosis of critical illness.
There will be 3 severity levels. Low Severity, Medium Severity and High Severity with a
payout of 30%, 60% and 100% of the rider sum covered respectively.

Low Severity and Medium Severity : 60 days waiting period shall apply to all low and
medium severity critical illnesses.
High Severity : 60 days following the issue date or commencement date for Cancer, Heart
Attack, Coronary Artery By-pass Surgery, Other Serious Coronary Artery Disease and
Angioplasty and Other Invasive Treatments for Major Coronary Artery Disease.
30 days following the issue date or commencement date for all other critical illnesses.

The Certificate Owner may instruct the Takaful Operator to switch the money invested in one fund
to another fund without switching fee subject to a minimum switch amount of RM50.
The Certificate Owner may increase or reduce the Sum Covered at the next monthly anniversary
date subject to the minimum Sum Covered multiple.
Any request for increasing the Sum Covered will be further subject to underwriting.
The revised Tabarru will be charged from the next monthly anniversary date onwards.
Addition or deletion of unit deducting rider(s) can be made at the next monthly anniversary date.
The Certificate Owner may increase or reduce the regular contribution at the next contribution due
date subject to the minimum regular contribution and the minimum Sum Covered multiple.
Partial withdrawal of the account value is allowed subject to minimum withdrawal amount of
RM1,000 and the minimum account value after withdrawal is RM1,000.
The sequence of withdrawal order:
1) Account Value from PIF-SA
2) Account Value from ad-hoc top-up
3) Account Value from PIF-PA

Additions and Deletions of Person Covered
a) New Dependent Children will automatically be covered, provided that there is at least one
Dependent Child already covered and the total number of Dependent Children already
covered is below 4 children. The Certificate Owner / Person Covered is required to give
notice and provide a copy of the childs birth certificate from the date on which the child is
14 days old, to AIA PUBLIC within 90 days of the event. Failure to do this will result in
cancellation of takaful coverage on that child.

b) If the children were not originally covered, the takaful coverage will be considered subject
to completion of an application for addition of the child and payment of a pro-rata
contribution for the period until the next Certificate Anniversary.

Underwriting Guideline - Conversion
If the Person Covered dies and the plan is a Family Plan, the surviving spouse and
children will be allowed to convert to a new medical plan under Person Covered and
Children, with the surviving spouse becoming the new Person Covered. The
conversion must be submitted within 3 months from the date of death of the Person
Covered.

If the Person Covered dies and the plan is a Family Plan, no conversion is allowed for
the surviving spouse if the surviving spouse is already more than 70 years old.
However, the covered children will then be allowed to convert to individual Certificate
without evidence of insurability.

If the Person Covered dies and the rider is a Person Covered and Children Plan, the
covered children are allowed to be converted into individual Certificate without
evidence of insurability.

When a child reaches 23 years old, he/she is allowed to convert to an individual
medical plan if the child is covered under Family or Person Covered and Children Plan.

Exclusion
This plan do not cover any Hospitalization, Surgery or charges caused directly or indirectly,
wholly or partly, by any one of the following occurrences:

1. PRE-EXISTING ILLNESS:-

PRE-EXISTING ILLNESS shall mean Disabilities prior to the Issue Date or Commencement Date of
the relevant Supplementary Hospitalization Contract and that the Person Covered/Participant
has reasonable knowledge of. The Person Covered/Participant may be considered to have
reasonable knowledge of a pre-existing illness where the condition is one for which:-
(a) the Person Covered had received or is receiving treatment;
(b) medical advice, diagnosis, care or treatment has been recommended;
(c) clear and distinct symptoms are or were evident; or
(d) its existence would have been apparent to a reasonable person in the circumstances.

2. SPECIFIED ILLNESS:-

Treatment or Surgery for Specified Illness until the Person Covered has been continuously
covered under the relevant Supplementary Hospitalization Contract for a period of 120 days
immediately preceding such treatment or Surgery.

SPECIFIED ILLNESSES shall mean the following Disabilities and its related complications:

Hypertension, diabetes mellitus and Cardiovascular disease
All tumours, cysts, nodules, polyps, stones of the urinary system and biliary system
All ear, nose (including sinuses) and throat conditions
Hernias, haemorrhoids, fistulae, hydrocele, varicocele
Endometriosis including disease of the Reproduction system
Vertebro-spinal disorders (including disc) and knee conditions.

3. Any medical or physical abnormalities existing at the time of birth, as well as neo-natal
physical abnormalities developing within 6 months from the time of birth. They will include
hernias of all types and epilepsy except when caused by a trauma which occurred after the date
that the Person Covered was continuously covered under the relevant Supplementary
Hospitalization Contract or any congenital or hereditary conditions which has manifested or
was diagnosed before the Person Covered attains 17 years of age.

4. Any Disability caused by self-destruction, intentional self-inflicted injuries, wilful exposure to
danger or any attempt of self-destruction while sane or insane.

5. War, declared or undeclared, strikes, riots, civil war, revolution or any warlike operations;

6. Service in the armed forces in time of declared or undeclared war or while under orders for
warlike operations or restoration of public order;

7. Any violation or attempted violation of the law or resistance to arrest.

8. Pregnancy, miscarriage or child birth;

9. Mental or nervous disorders, treatment of alcoholism, or drug abuse or any other
complications arising therefrom or any drug not prescribed by treating Doctor.

10. Plastic/Cosmetic surgery, circumcision (except circumcision due to infection), eye
examination/elective surgery for visual impairments due to nearsightedness, farsightedness
or astigmatism or radial keratotomy; all corrective glasses, contact lenses and intraocular
lens (except monofocal intraocular lenses in cataract) surgery or the use or acquisition of
external prosthetic appliances or devices such as artificial limbs, hearing aids, and
prescriptions thereof;

11. Any form of dental care or Surgery unless necessitated by injury but excluding the
replacement of natural teeth, placement of denture and prosthetic services such as bridges
and crowns or their replacement;

12. Hospitalization primarily for investigatory purposes, diagnosis, X-ray examination, general
physical or medical examinations, not incidental to treatment or diagnosis of a covered
Disability or any treatment which is not Medically Necessary and any preventive treatments,
preventive medicines or examinations carried out by a Physician, vitamins/food
supplements and treatments specifically for weight reduction or gain.;

13. Any treatment or investigation which is not Medically Necessary, or convalescence, custodial
or rest care;

14. Any medical or physical conditions arising within the first 30 days of the Issue Date or
Commencement Date of the Certificate whichever is later except for Covered Injury.

15. Ionizing radiation or contamination by radioactivity from any nuclear fuel or nuclear waste
from process of nuclear fission or from any nuclear weapon material
