PURPOSE
This is a primary research done by us
due to our curiosity to understand
more about this one part in an airplane
which gives a very big contribution to
the aviation industry.
In order to orderly classify our
objectives,we have simplified them into
list of.
Due to the unsolved problems of
locating the missing MH370 which
happened to have a correlation with
the black box.

We want to identify the nearest

possibilities which cause failure to the
authorised government.

To specifically understand the main

function and the disadvantages of
black box.

INTRODUCTION

All comercial aeroplane and

corporate jet is required to be
equipped with a voice recorder and
a flight data recorder in which we
commonly refer as a Black Box .
As we all know , it do nothing to
help the plane when it is in the air
but these equipment is very helpful
to the investigators especially when
the plane crash and gone missing .
However , there are some
weaknesses of the Black Box .The
weaknesses of Black Box in
locating missing airplanes to the
aviation industry are it is insufficent
on battery life, unable to float and
available only for a few miles on its
pinger range.

1) Insufficient battery life

The black box sends out a ping but the
problems is, the battery of the pinger
will only last for 30 days . Even after
the batteries for the pinger run out, the
recorded data remains intact.

2) It doesn't float

The box is made out of alluminium and designed t

withstand massive impact, fire and high pressure .
is heavy and about 10kg.So, if the balck box sink
into the ocean, it will sink quickly till it reached th
ocean floor. The pressure down there is very high
depending on the depth of the ocean while the bla
box can only withstand an acceleration of 3400Gs
(3400 times the force of gravity).Furthermore, the
movement of the sea water at the ocean floor can
change the position of the black box frequently an
this will make the searching mission becoming mo
complicated.

3)THE PINGERS' RANGE IS ONLY A FEW

MILES
The signal can typically
only be picked up a mile
away . This means
aircraft really needs to be
almost directly on top of
the black box to hear the
ping. While in the ocean,
if those pings hit a layer
of warmer or colder
water,the signal might be
refracted or reflected.
