Sports Experience
01 Chelsea Football Club
Training Ground Cobham, Surrey
AFLS+P have developed the concept of
a building in harmony with its setting:
meeting the demands of a challenging brief
whilst integrating the landscape of this
sensitive site.
02 FC Kuban Stadium, Krasnodar Russia
AFLS+P secured the design of the new
45,000 capacity stadium for FC Kuban via
competition. The state of the art stadium
is designed to UEFA, FIFA and Russian
Football Federation standards, and also for
the hosting of concerts and other events or
sports.
03 Rio 2016 Olympic Park Brazil
AFLS+P in collaboration have designed this
submission for the Olympic Park master plan
competition for one of Rio de Janeiros main
sites for the 2016 Olympic & Paralympic
Games.
04 Southampton Football Club -
Training Facility & Academy
The design of the new training centre for
Southampton FC will provide state of the art
facilities for the football clubs frst team and
its youth academy.
05 Edgbaston Cricket Ground
Warwickshire
The redevelopment involved the demolition
of 4 existing stands to create space for the
new facility which comprises 8195 spectator
seats, player, media & visitor facilities,
museum, club shop, ofces, conference &
banquet suite and exhibition hall for 1800
person.

Commercial Experience
01 Adamson House Head Ofce
For Morsons International
Sited on a prominent site between
Centenary Way and the Manchester Ship
Canal, the client required a bold and high
quality design with a strong identity which
was both efcient and costefective. The
building provides circa 55,000 sq ft of fexible
ofce space over four general levels above
basement parking.
02 National Football Museum -
Manchester
AFLS+P was appointed as technical design
advisor and lead consultant for the design
team of the base build package for the
National Football Museum Relocation. The
existing museum was relocated from its
current home at Preston North End Football
Club into the existing Urbis building in
Manchester city centre.
03 HQ Chester Boutique Hotel and
Apartments, Chester
AFLS+Ps role was to develop an existing
concept, creating signifcant added value,
whilst working with the client and contractor
to deliver through to completion this
sensitive scheme. This is a key development
inside the historic City Wall of Chester. It is
a prestigious site in a key location adjacent
to the Castle, Chester Racecourse, City Gate
(Chester has 4 city gates) and the River Dean.
04 Liverpool Football Club -
Boot Room Restaurant
Further to AFLS+Ps successful involvement
in a Boot Room themed restaurant at Anfeld
stadium in 2010, the Practice were invited to
design and project manage a second venue in
Cheshire Oaks.

01 Allerton Building Salford University
The aim of the design was to dramatically
improve the internal space of the entrance
and ground foor. There was a need not only
to maintain the existing entrance, but to
introduce another entrance that receives
pedestrian trafc from the new faculty
building.
02 The Faculty of Health Salford University
AFLS+P fulflled the role of Campus Planners
to the University of Salford and were
commissioned as lead designers for the
prestigious facility for the Faculty of Health &
Social Care.
03 Ashgate and CrossacresSchools
Manchester City Council, Wythenshawe
The project involves the refurbishment of an
existing school building, together with some
new build accommodation to facilitate the
co-location of Crossacres Primary School and
Ashgate SEN school.
04 Liverpool Old Royal Infrmary
The Grade II Listed Third Liverpool Infrmary,
was constructed between 1887 and1889,
to the designs of the Victorian Architect
Sir Alfred Waterhouse. The aim of the
refurbishment project was to produce
accommodation by the optimum use of
the existing buildings to satisfy Liverpool
University Medical Schools expansion
requirements. The project efected 5 Schools
of Medicine and included both relocation and
expansion into the listed buildings.
Residential Experience
01 City Lofts Phase1 Princes Dock - Liverpool
The development ofers a consistent
language to all elevations. With clear
expression of the structural grid via the
confdent use of concrete panels, they frame
generously proportioned glazed bays ofering
panoramic views of the surrounding areas
from within the apartments.
02 Alexandra Tower Princes Dock - Liverpool
This site provided an opportunity to create
a landmark building marking the entrance
to Princes Dock from the River Mersey
and forming a visual link to the dock
redevelopment area from Liverpool City
Centre and Wirral Peninsular. The building
responds to this opportunity with its
signifcant height, dynamic design and
contemporary use of materials.
03 Princes Half Tide Dock - Liverpool
The block features a strongly expressed
cornice line which sits below the level of the
existing cornice of the adjacent Waterloo
Warehouse. In addition, the scale of the
articulation of the faade at ground/frst foor
level mirrors that of the Waterloo Warehouse
plinth.
04 Whitehaven Harbour - Competition
The design proposal aims to strengthen both
the visual and pedestrian links between the
town and the promenade whilst creating a
new landmark for Whitehaven Town.

New Mental Health Complex
Leigh Infrmary
Working together with 5 Borough Partnership NHS
Foundation Trust, following our successful Design
Competition win. We were challenged to provide a
landmark Mental Health building that will be a world
leader in providing world class Mental Health, learning
disability & community services, with a reputation for
quality, innovation and excellence. The Clients aim is to
provide a 40 bed low secure unit (LSU), a low bed PICU
facility, as well as accommodation for all the community
teams and support service, this would include a fexible
community social space to help the service users care
pathway throughout their recovery.

Progressive Privacy Segregated Links Public and Private Fragmented and Open
The Christie NHS Foundation Trust
Patient Treatment Centre
At the gateway to this well established site, this striking addition to the estate
refects both the aspirations of the client to produce an iconic building and
the highly functional content requested. This centralisation of The Christie
Chemotherapy services for both public and private patients incorporates
a Clinical Trials Unit which will lead the UK in the trialling of new cancer
treatments. Designed to BREEAM excellent.

Our Interior design team designed throughout the
entire Christie building. Above is the waiting area and
chemotherapy treatment zone.
The internal courtyard allows staf and patient
access from the treatment spaces as well as
allowing natural light and ventilation into the heart
of the building.

Princeway Health Centre
Frodsham
The Integrated Resource Centre is situated in the heart of
Frodsham. Incorporating new primary healthcare facility, the
formation of a new public square and the enhancement of the
adjacent public realm. A new covered street has been included
both to satisfy the linkages with the existing leisure centre and
to improve connectivity across the site when approaching from
both the North and South.
Arrowe Park Hospital Main Entrance
The Wirral
AFLS+P has completed work re-developing the
main entrance at Arrowe Park Hospital for Wirral
University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. A complete
refurbishment and redevelopment with improved
wayfnding and facilities has dramatically improved the
patient, visitor and staf experience.
Stratford Hospital
This new hospital facility is designed to act as
a catalyst to help the Trust deliver its vision
for the future of healthcare provision in
Stratford-upon-Avon with strong vernacular
infuences delivered with a contemporary
interpretation, the design helps to give the
intended visual statement for such a fagship
new development.

Warwick Hospital
The design of this 3 storey ward block was
infuenced by careful consideration of the in-
patient experience, the ability to deliver care
to a range of patient groups, and an interior
design that helps to improve the well-being
of patients, visitors and staf.
Clatterbridge Cancer Centre
Liverpool
The new 17M state-of-the-art, purpose built facility
ofers cancer patients living north of the River
Mersey improved access to treatment. The centre
is stafed and operated by Clatterbridge Cancer
Centres own specialist radiographers and doctors
delivering radiotherapy treatments as well as expert
cancer rehabilitation and support services.
Nature themes infuenced the look and
feel of this unit outside and in.

Clatterbridge Cancer Centre
Private Patients Unit
This private patients unit was delivered as a joint
venture between the Trust and Dublin based
Healthcare patients The Mater. Exceptionally high
quality fnishes and furniture help to improve the
patients experience.
Oxford University Hospitals
Designed in parallel, these satellite radiotherapy
units have been designed for the Milton Keynes
and Swindon hospital sites to allow treatment
to be delivered closer to the patient catchment
areas.
Liverpool University NHS Trust
Dental Hospital
This project combined refurbishment of an existing facility
together with a fve storey new build extension to provide state of
the art dental teaching facilities for the Hospital over two complete
foor plates with all associated staf and ancillary facilities. The
upper three storeys were ftted out to provide bespoke laboratory
areas for the University.
Manchester Royal Infrmary
Hybrid Theatres
This cutting edge development has been
designed to bring state-of-the-art operating
theatres and MRI scan facilities into the new
PFI development.
The Christie
Laproscopic Unit
The scope of the works was to convert two
existing wards into laproscopic theatres,
located at ground foor level, with live wards
above on the frst foor. Part of the works
also required us to construct an information
centre within the confnes of an enclosed
courtyard and the construction of a new
plant room located on top of an existing live
ward to service the new theatres. We are also
refurbishing a stage 1
recovery area located adjacent live operating
theatres.
Womens Hospital
New Womens Hospital this concept design
for a new birth unit and maternity services was
designed as a fagship new development on the
hospital site.
Leighton Hospital
This new neonatal development was
designed to give help and reassure
parents with the creation of a
welcoming and relaxing environment.
The Christie Private Patients Unit
Designed as a competition entry for the provision of
private cancer services on the Christie site.
The Christie Proton Centre
AFLS+P has been appointed by The Christie to
assist with their bid to bring a revolutionary new
Proton Therapy Cancer Treatment Centre to the
North West of England. The NHS are seeking a
suitable organisation to provide this cutting edge
treatment in England with one facility to be based
in the north and one in the south of the country.
Salford University Faculty of
Health & Social Care
AFLS+P fulflled the role of Campus Planners to the University
of Salford and were commissioned as lead designers for
the prestigious facility for the Faculty of Health & Social
Care. Housing Schools of Nursing, Healthcare Professionals
and Community Health Sciences & Social Care, the project
incorporates fully adaptable teaching accommodation to cope
with changing methods and technology.
