Canada has a large domestic
and foreign tourism
industry. The second largest
country in the world,
Canada's incredible
geographical variety is a
significant tourist attractor.
Much of the country's tourism
is centered around Canada's
four largest metropolitan
areas, Toronto, Montreal,
Vancouver, and Ottawa, well
known for their culture,
diversity, as well as the many
national parks and historic
sites.
Manitoba

Your unexpected adventure
begins in Manitoba. Start in
the north where the great polar
bears gather along the shores
of Hudson Bay. Spend some
time on the tundra spotting
rare ptarmigans and kayak
amongst thousands of
friendly singing beluga
whales.
Quebec
Ride in a horse-drawn
carriage, stroll antique alleys,
snap to the beat of a jazz
festivaland eat, eat, eat.
Stroll through Montral,
Qubec City, or smaller
communities tossing your
scarf with the nonchalance of
a local.
Environmental issues in
Canada
Air pollution: As with many
other countries air pollution is
a problem in metropolitan
areas. The air pollutants are
from cars and wood burning.
The common measured air
pollutants are Carbon
Monoxide and Sulfur Dioxide.
Conservation: The Rainforest
Action Network and
indigenous groups have
campaigned to protect the
Boreal forest of Canada from
logging and mining. In July
2008 the Ontario government
announced plans to protect
some of the area from all
industrial activity.
Logging: Logging of old
growth forest is continuing in
Canada. The Ancient Forest
Alliance is an environmental
group in British Columbia,
Canada that is dedicated to
stopping logging in
endangered old growth
forests, and ensuring the
sustainable logging of second
growth forests.
The forests of Clayoquot
Sound are still being logged.
There are ongoing protests
over the logging and in 1993
it was the site of the largest
act of peaceful civil
disobedience in Canada.

Weather Conditions
The average maximum/minimum
temperatures of Canada of various cities
across Canada, based on the climate period
from 1981-2010 for the months of January
and July (generally the lowest/highest average
temperature months, but not in all cases).
The major Canadian city that falls outside the
continental climate schema is Vancouver,
which experiences an oceanic climate with a
marked summer dry season. Of the eight
largest Canadian cities, Ottawa, Montreal and
Toronto have the warmest summers,
Winnipeg the coldest winters, with
Vancouver's winters are far milder than any
other large city in Canada.
Central and north Canada experiences
subarctic and arctic climates, much of them
arid. Those areas are not heavily populated
due to the severe climate, where it does not
exceed -20 C on most winter days and has a
very brief summer season.
Political Aspects
The politics of Canada function within a
framework of parliamentary democracy and a
federal system of parliamentary government
with strong democratic traditions. Canada is a
constitutional monarchy, in which the
Monarch is head of state. The country has a
multi-party system in which many of its
legislative practices derive from the unwritten
conventions of and precedents set by Great
Britain's Westminster Parliament.
