Here at AusJob we believe in building personal relationships with our applicants so they feel fully
supported from the word go! This section is dedicated to the team behind AusJob. Please read below to
meet Lee, Sharron, Millie, Mike, Emily, Bob and Cat

Go on, they dont bite!
Lee, Head of Magic
Hi Im Lee, Im a self-proclaimed crazy golf specialist who loves
blue slush puppies. When Im not dressed as Harry Potter, I love to
travel and help others live out their dreams of seeing the world. As
the original founder of AmeriCamp and AusJob, my ambition is for
all AmeriCampers and AusJobbers to live their lives to the full and
to never look back.
Millie, Chief of Talking to All You Lovely Applicants
Hi,My names Millie, and after travelling all over the world, I just knew
travel was what I wanted to work in. Chatting to excited travellers
everyday and talking about the incredible land of Australia each and
every minute is pretty dreamy. I love the chilled out ethos of AusJob and
everything it stands for! Plus...I will always be the rst in line for a barbie.
Sharron, Work and Travel Operations Manager
This picture was taken at Bells Beach, a famous surf beach on the
Great Ocean Road.
My name is Sharron, and I travelled to Australia as a backpacker 12 years
ago and never left! I love the laid back Aussie culture, and meeting
travellers from all over the world. Australia, is such a diverse country
with so much to see, do and experience you will never get bored!
Emily, Head of Smiling
Hey, my name is Emily and I just cant stop smiling! I love travelling
and experiencing new and exciting places, so working as part of
the AusJob team allows me to put all my energy into making other
peoples travel aspirations become a reality.
Bob, Director of Internships out in
Australia and New Zealand
Im Bob Alagh, Im from London originally but now live in Wellington, New
Zealand. Im a massive football fan and support Arsenal. Also I play and
coach football. When Im not playing or coaching football, I like to watch
football! Yes, a little bit footy mad. Living in Wellington means I can also
easily sh, cycle, swim and head to the beach! If you are considering an
internship in New Zealand or Aussie then I would say go for it.as the poet
Michael Klein said risk is extra life. Having said that NZ and OZ are two of
the safest countries on earthso not too risky. Come on down!
Mike, Director of Work and Travel
My name is Mike and I have lived in Australia for the last 14 years. I
travelled around this amazing country in a campervan many years
ago and had so many unforgettable experiences. If you love sport, the
outdoors and want to enjoy relaxing on some of the best beaches in
the world, then put a trip to Australia on your bucket list.
Cat, The Au Pair Genius
Hey, Im Cat! I started of as an AmeriCamper where I worked as a
horse riding instructor in Michigan. After that I travelled the States and
South America before coming to work for AmeriCamp HQ as Head of
Recruitment. During my time at AmeriCamp I set up AmeriAuPair, our
American au pair programme. I am currently based in Sydney working
on AusJob focusing mainly on our Australia Au Pair programme.

@AusJob
It is important to take this next page on board (boring, but denitely worth your while!)
In order to participate in the AusJob programme all applicants are required to secure either the 417 or
462 Working Holiday Visa. In order to secure these visas there are a number of requirements that need
to be fullled.
TO GET A WORKING HOLIDAY VISA (417 OR 462) YOU NEED TO (AMONGST OTHER THINGS):
Be 18 years of ages but not yet 31 years of age
Not have a dependent child accompanying you at any time during your stay in Australia
Have a passport from an eligible country (to nd out if you are eligible head on over to the visa
section on our website)
The Working Holiday Visa allows you to work and travel in Australia for 12 months, but please be
aware that in this time you are only allowed to work for one employer for a maximum of 6 months.
Once your Working Holiday Visa (417 or 462) has been approved you have 12 months to enter the
country (we urge you to get there as soon as possible!)
SUFFICIENT FUNDS
You will be expected to have access to sufcient funds whilst you are in the country. These sufcient
funds are around $5000 (AUD) (2792) and this is just to make sure you can initially support yourself

REALLY IMPORTANT STUFF
CURRENCY
Its up to you what you do with your money
whilst out there, but AusJob highly recommends
using pre-paid travel cards such as our partners
Caxton FX. If you want more information on
Caxton then please give us a call and we can set
you up.
TAX
Wherever you go you will be haunted by tax!
Unlike the UK where most people pay their tax
through PAYE, everyone in Australia has to le a
tax return at the end of the nancial year (June),
even though employers automatically take tax
out of your wages.
Wondering how all this is sorted? The ofce out
in Australia will provide you with the full support
you need regarding tax and superannuation,
setting you up with your own Tax-File number.
So dont worry, weve got it covered.
Moving to a new country is extremely exciting but with everything new and exciting there
are some things that you should be aware of that will help you stay safe.We know this
seems daunting, but dont worry this will all be explained in the orientation in Sydney.
MEDICARE/ INSURANCE
Medicare is a healthcare agreement between
the UK and the Australian government. It covers
you for essential medical services for your stay,
including the following:
Free treatment as a public in-patient or out-patient
in a public hospital
Subsidised medicine under the Pharmaceutical
Benets Scheme (PBS)
Medicare benets for out-of-hospital treatment
provided by a doctor
However, even with this we do advise all
applicants to secure sufcient travel insurance
before departing their home country. Again,
dont worry too much about this as it will all be
explained in the orientation.
WILDLIFE AWARENESS
Australia is home to some of the worlds
deadliest animals and this can be very of-
putting to some people. However, you really
dont need to panic as most of these species
arent even that dangerous anymore, for example
nobody has died from a spider bite since 1979 as
anti-venom is now available for all species. If you
come across something you are unsure of, just
leave it alone!
SUN AWARENESS
Australia is known for its sunshine and although
it is great, our yellow friend in the sky can be
quite dangerous. Whilst you are out there please
AusJob.co.uk
remember to apply sun cream every day, even
when its raining and you wont be one of those
bright red Brits!
FLIGHTS
We all know its a long ol ight down under and
there are lots of diferent options you can take.
Once youve paid your deposit with us we will
put you in touch with our ight partners, Flight
Centre, who will sort you out with the best ights
for the best deal.
24 HOUR EMERGENCY HELP LINE
Australias emergency number is 000.

@AusJob
L
ife in Australia is extremely laid
back, where workers are encouraged
to spend their weekends relaxing
down by the beach. Christmas in the
sun, BBQs on the beach and sunbathing
all year round are just some of the more
laid back activities you can enjoy whilst
living in Australia.
Australias prospering economy
allows AusJob applicants to earn
up to $1000 (AUD) per week doing
basic bar, restaurant and sales work
in Sydney. With these earnings, great
weather all year round and picturesque
natural beauty round every corner, we
encourage our applicants to travel and
explore as much as possible especially
with great spots such as The Great
Barrier Reef, Gold Coast, Cairns and
many more! So what are you waiting
for? Grab some mates, hire a van and
go and explore the coast!

FAQs
Can I stay in Australia longer than a year?
Yes. In order to do this you will need to work
in the outback for a minimum of 88 days. This
can be spread out over your rst year, but most
people get it done in one go. After this you can
apply for your 2nd year visa.
What are the requirements for me to go
out to Australia?
Firstly you need to be eligible! Please refer back
to our Visa section for more information.
How quickly will I get a job?
On average it takes backpackers over a month
to get a job, but with AusJob you are most
likely to get a job within the rst week of being
in Aus. Once you have had your orientation the
employment hunt will begin.
What jobs are available?
We place hundreds of people each month into a
wide variety of positions including, but not limited
to, hospitality, ofce, retail, bar work, warehouse,
factory, construction and events. This kind of
employment is based around travellers, allowing
them to work and travel at the same time.
How long will it take for my Working
Holiday Visa to be processed?
The Aussie government usually get them back to
you within 48 hours, but it can take up to 6 days.
What is the rate of pay?
The minimum wage in Australia is $20.20 (AUD)
per hour; although dependent on employment this
could be slightly more. AusJobbers are paid weekly.
Where will I stay after the hostel?
We recommend going into shared accommodation
since it is usually cheaper and a great way to
meet new people! The team out in Aus can give
you some great advice on this.
What is the cost of living in Australia?
In the Outback the cost of living will be close to zero,
with food and accommodation included with the job.
City life is slightly more expensive. The amount of
money you earn (normally 600+ a week) will cover
all but the most luxurious expenses.
I want to be at the same company as a
friend, can AusJob do this?
We cannot guarantee that friends will be placed
at the same company. You can live together
whilst you are out there and if you opt for the fun
week before you start working you can kick of
your Aussie adventure together!
What exactly does AusJob provide?
