If you think Paris is all about crowded museums and overpriced cafs, think again! Today, Im going to show you a
few of my favorite spots in Paris that you wont "nd in any tourist book. All of these locales are reasonably priced
(for Europe) and easily accessed by Mtro. Get ready for an afternoon of unexpected adventures in the City of
Lights!
Stroll
Thousands of tourists visit the picturesque
Boulevard St.-Germain for its famous cafs
and upscale shops. But if you want a taste of
the real Latin Quarter (from the time when
people actually spoke Latin), veer o# the main
thoroughfare onto Cour de Commerce Saint-
Andr. This narrow, glass-covered alley will
transport you back to the Middle Ages with its
cobblestones and quaint shops. Stop in for a
!14 prix-"xe lunch (with dessert) at the ob-
scenely charming restaurant La Jacobine. Its
homey decor (which references the 17
th
century
political movement that gave the restaurant
its name) and friendly waiters turn this Parisian
salon de th into a time capsule of life from an-
other era.
Bonus: the duck con"t is magni!que and will
make all your Instagram followers jealous.

Everyone knows French women are magical.
They have ageless skin, dont get fat, and
produce children who dont cry in public. Since
youre only in Paris for a little while, I cant help
you with your waistline or future o#spring, but
amazing skin is de"nitely within your reach. On a
nondescript corner in the Sixth Arrondissement
lies the answer to every girls prayers and every
guys question of What do I bring back for my
mom?
City Pharma is unequivocally the cheapest
place in Paris to stock up on French balms,
elixirs, and tonics from such luxe brands as La
Roche-Posay, Nuxe, Caudalie, and more. This
store sell more cult skincare products to
celebrities and a"cionados than aggressive
street salesman on the Champs-lyses sell
Ei#el Tower keychains. Expect City Pharma to be
crowded, but trust me, its oh-so-worth the wait.
Snack
Macarons have been trending in the culinary
world for a few years now -- and nowhere
will you "nd fresher and more delicious mac-
arons than right here in Paris. But in a city
with bakeries on every corner, where do you
turn for la crme de la crme of macarons?
Im calling it: Pierre Herm has the best
macarons in all of Paris. With $avors like vanilla-
olive oil, salted caramel, and quince-rose, and
lower prices than its Champs-lyses rival
Ladure, theres really nothing not to like about
this gem of a bakery. Pierre Herm has a
number of locations around the city - no matter
which one you choose, you cant go wrong with
macarons. Marie-Antoinette would be salivating if
she still had a head.

Savor

If all this exploring has left you with an appetite,
hop on the Mtro and head over to the best pizza
place in Paris, hands down.
Grab a bottle of !2 wine at your nearest super-
march and BYOB the French way: alongside the
picturesque Canal St.-Martin at sunset.
Pink Flamingo Pizza cooks up pies you wont
want to miss. With $avors like the Poulidor (with
slices of duck, potato, and goat cheese), the Che
(Cuban-style pork and fried plantains), and the
Aphrodite (grilled eggplant with garlic, spicy red
peppers, and hummus), as well as the classic
Margherita, youre sure to "nd some options
that everyone in your group will love.
Dont feel like waiting for your pizza at the
restaurant? Grab a pink balloon and take a seat by
the canal - their delivery service will "nd you.

Looking for a place to toast your trip?
Located in the ber-cool Marais district, The Lizard
Lounge knows how to show customers a good
time. Stop in from 5-8pm upstairs or 8-10pm
downstairs for a !5 Happy Hour cocktail you
wont regret. (And remember, !5 is pretty much
the least expensive cocktail youll ever "nd in
Paris.)
The bars atmosphere is seriously friendly, and the
bartenders speak English (bonus: usually with an
English accent). If a cold brew is more your style
than a caipirinha, I recommend a bottle of Des-
perados. This Mexican-style, French-produced beer
is $avored with a hint of tequila, making it a tasty
choice for, well, everyone. Sant!
