ADAKU UTAH is Nigerian, Queer, Love Warrior dedicated to the abundance, wellness and liberation of her
community . She comes from a fierce long line of wise women, healers, herbalists and priestesses. She is a
practicing community herbalist, performance artist and social justice organizer and educator. She has studied
under master herbalists in Nigeria, Jamaica, Haiti and the US including her own mother and grandmother.
She started studying and practicing plant medicine with her mother at the age of 13 as a way to understand and
heal her chronically ill body. Since 2011, she has been apprenticing with Master Herbalist Karen Rose of Sacred
Vibes Healing in the Sacred Vibes Community Herbalist Apprenticeship Program and is currently in the 4th
cohort of Just Foods Farm School Urban Agriculture and Community Organizing Program. She lives in
Brooklyn, New York with her incredible partner Naima and her two cats Zebulon and Cardamom.
