Rajiv Gandhi Institute of IT & BT (RGITBT) received its affiliation with Bharati Vidyapeeth (deemed) University
(BVU) from UGC, New Delhi on 7
th
August, 2002 {vide its communication, bearing F. No.- 3 2/90/(CPP-I)}.
Accordingly, it started functioning from an academic year 2003 - 04. Its initial operations were located at Y M
College of Arts, Commerce and Science, the mother institute of BVU.
For meaningful teaching and practicals, RGITBT received complete co-operation from Y. M. College and Pune
College of Pharmacy for using classrooms, laboratories and library facilities
These interim operations were subsequently shifted in June 2005 to its rightful place on the Medical College
campus in the newly built gigantic structure, christened as Rajiv Gandhi Institute of IT & BT.
