Associate Professor of Applied Mathematics and Information Technology

Prof. BA was born on March 26, 1935 and is a native of Vietnam. His wife
- Mrs. Doan Tuyet Nga is an engineer in chemistry. His son - Mr. Dinh Hong Ky,
engineer in automatic control and his daughter - Mrs. Dinh Hoai Giang, engineer
in solid state physics are presently the General Director and Vice General Director
of SECOIN CO.,LTD.

After graduating as a Chemical Engineer and completing his B.Sc of

Mathematics, Prof. BA became a lecturer of Hanoi University of Technology
from 1959 for : Mathematical Analysis, Theory of Splines, Multicriteria
Optimization, Fuzzy set theory, Computer Aided Modelization and Simulation,...Prof. BA conducted pilot
researches (1983-84) at National Polytechnic Institute of Grenoble - France. In 1985, he was invited by
UNDP to lecture on Documentary Informatics for Vietnam library directors training class. Prof. BA is one
of the founders of French speaking Informatics Institute and Center for Specialized Informatics Training
for gifted pupils of Informatics.

Prof. BA has written teaching books: Algebra, Mathematical Statistics, Engineering Experimental
Design and Sampling Techniques, Nomography for Artillery, Optimal Control for Engineers,... His main
scientific works are:

- A method of Multicriteria Optimization (Reports of USSR Academy),

- A Compromise Solution in Multicriteria Optimization (Scientific Works of Moscow Institute for
Chemical Technologies),
- A method for Estimating Membership Function of Fuzzy Set (Bulletin of Fuzzy Set Theory,
France),
- Software for Estimation of Membership Function of Fuzzy Set (Special Bibliography on
Algorithms and Softwares of Zentralblatt fur Matematik, Germany),...

 Prof. BA is the founder of SECOIN CO.,LTD. which was one of the first liability limited companies
of Vietnam. SECOIN' s main activities are: Production of Terrazzo tiles, Concrete blocks, Roofing tiles,
Abrasive tools, Diamond tools and special decorative flooring tiles, Transferring new technologies into
Vietnam, Exclusive Agent of about 25 foreign manufacturers, Import-Export agent for many local
companies. Prof. BA himself has established and managed a SECOIN group specialized in E-commerce.
SECOIN has been selected by GRAHAM & WHITESIDE LTD (UK) to be a subject of "MAJOR
COMPANIES OF THE FAR EAST AND AUSTRALASIA".
