Combined Recruitment for the posts of Engineering Assistant and
Technician in Prasar Bharati. Exam, 2013 - Declaration of final result

Staff Selection Commissionconducted an open competitive examination
for recruitment to the post of Engineering Assistant and Technician In
Prasar Bharati on 21.07.2013 on all India basis followed by
Interview/Personality Tests of the candidates who qualified in the written
examination forthepost of Engineering Assistant.
2. 1290 candidates qualifiedfor appointment to the post of Engineering
Assistant and 339 candidates qualified for appointment to the post of
Technician fortheCombinedRecruitment forthepost of Engineering Assistant
andTechnicianinPrasar Bharti Examination, 2013.
3. As per notice of examination/corrigendum, candidates were required to
indicatetheir preferenceforvariouspostsasunder :-
A- Engineering Assistant
B-Technician
4. Followingcriteria wasadoptedforallocationofcandidates:-
(i) Allocationof candidates to different zoneswas doneonthe basis of
merit-cum-option of zoneandthereafter, todifferent postswithin the
zone.
(ii) Candidates were considered for only onepost, A or B as per their
merit-cum-option.
(iii) Candidates were considered for preferences for which they were
eligibleas per theverifieddata sent bythe Regional Officesof SSC.
In caseof candidates whodidnot attend Interview, post preference
exercisedbythecandidateinapplicationformhas beenconsidered.

(iv) As per Notice of exam, papers/interview considered for different

5. Keeping in viewthe vacancy position, followingare the Zone-wiseand

Lists (Post Code A, Post Code B) along with lowest marks of last selected
candidate. (Rows corresponding to post/ zone/ category with nil reported
vacancies have not been included in the tables). If all the reported vacancies
against acategory (9-UR, I-SC, 2-ST, 6-0BC) have been filledby candidates
selected against horizontal categories (3-ExS, 4-0H, 5-HH, 7-VH), Lowest
marks are shown against the horizontal category only and corresponding fields

Note : Preference for Zones - ZoneCodes: East Zone- E, West Zone- W,
NorthZone- N, SouthZone- S, North East Zone- NE
6. RESOLUTIONOFTIE CASES(Asper Noticeof Exam)
If candidates for aparticular post havethesameaggregate marks inthe
Examination then the tie will be resolved by referring to the total marks of
Paper-II (forpost code'B')/ Interview of the examination i.e. acandidate having
more marks in Paper-II/Interview will be given preference, wherever such
papers areprescribed. If thetiestill persists then thetotal marks inPaper-I(for
post codeB)/Paper-II (followedby Paper-It for post codeA) of the examination
will bereferred to i.e. acandidate havingmoremarks inthis Paper will begiven
preference. This procedure will befollowedby Date of Birth, i.e., the candidate
born earlier will get preference. Lastly, if the tie still persists, it will befinally
resolvedbyreferring tothe alphabetical order of names, i.e., acandidate whose
name begins with the alphabet which comesfirst inthe alphabetical order will
getpreference.
7. The candidature of 87 candidates declared qualified for post of
Engineering Assistant and thecandidature of 9candidates declared qualified
forthepost of Technician havebeenkept as Provisional byconcernedregional
offices are also included in the Select list. For the post of Technician, 195
candidates whose document verification is pending have been included in the
Select List provisionally on the basis of information filled by them in the
application f?rm.
8. Thelist of recommendedcandidates isPROVISIONAL andsubject tothe
candidates fulfillingall theeligibilityconditionsprescribed intheNoticeof said
examination and also subject to, among other things, thorough verification of
their identity withreferencetotheir photographs, signatures, handwritings, etc.
ontheapplication forms, admissioncertificates, etc. byPrasar Bharti.
9. The category status in respect of the candidates belonging to reserve
categories has beenindicated alongwith their roll numbers. It isimportant for
such candidates to note that they have been declared qualified only for the
category mentioned against their Roll Numbers. If any candidate does not
actually belongto the category mentioned against his Roll Number or his roll
number andnamedonot match, hemaynot beeligibletobeincludedinthelist.

******* 11. As mentioned in the NOTICE for Examination, published in Employment News
dated 23rd Feb.-1st March, 2013, the candidates included in the pannel will be given
appointment against the vacancies in phased manner.
