Orange LED blinks 1X, 3X, 4X (voltage loss)
Symptom: Relays click. Fans come on briefly. Shutdown. Relays click off. Pwr LED blinks orange.
Cause: Low or excessive supply voltage from the Main board or TV Power supply board or def lamp
assembly.

2. The lamp assembly only needs + 5Vdc (lamp-On) and + 26Vdc (power supply) to light.
3. Communications is not necessary to keep the + 5Vdc Lamp-On signal high (lamp lit).
4. The Lamp-On signal will remain high or cycle high and low before shutdown, depending upon communications presence:

a) Defect Scenario 1 – NO lamp light - If no lamp light is detected inside the lamp assembly, data communications
returned to the TV micro causes the Lamp-On output signal (CN6005/2) to repeatedly go low and high (3X). If still
no lamp ignition is detected, the TV shuts down with an error code (red 2X – no lamp light).
b) Defect Scenario 2 - If NO communications is returned to the micro (from the lamp), the micro continues the Lamp-
On signal (CN6005/2 = 5V) and the TV remains on with sound and picture. [Unplugging CN6005 produces error
code = Red 5X – no lamp communications.]
c) Defect Scenario 3 - If NO communications enters the lamp assembly, the lamp outputs no communications. [If you
do not see data into the lamp, expect no data output.] (error code = Red 5X – no lamp communications).

Red LED blinks 2X, 3X, or 13X (no lamp)
Symptom: TV shuts down with an error code. 2X = No light detected; 3X = Defective internal lamp assembly
Temp sensor; 13X = Input +26Vdc Low (at CN151 red).
Cause: Missing 26Vdc; missing CN6005/pin 2 voltage (comm); or internal lamp assembly defect (no light).
Suspect: Power supply board, Main Bd. (+ Light Engine), Lamp Pwr Supply, & Lamp Assembly.
Troubleshooting:
1. Replace the Lamp’s “RF Amp” Power Supply if there is no +26Vdc out at CN151 but there is 120Vac
input at CN1 at power on. You may want to disconnect the lamp load by unplugging CN151 & rechecking for +26V.
2. Press pwr on. Replace the lamp assembly if these 2 voltages are both present at power on: a) +26Vdc at
CN151, red wire b) +5Vdc at CN6005/pin 2, or c) if the TV draws approx 2.1 amps @ 120Vac but no
light. [2.1A ac means +26V & +5V are OK] You can also use a lamp test method described in slide 34.
3. If 5V at CN6005/pin 2 is missing at power on, replace the main board.

Fan conn Layout
Troubleshooting:
1. Press pwr on. If +26Vdc is high at CN151 (red wires), replace the lamp (RF Amp) power supply.
2. Measure the temperature of the lamp assembly heat sink (at the thermal fuse – see layout diagram).
a) Heat sink temp is about 132 degrees F or less (normal) before shutdown? Remove wire CN6005/pin 7
from the plug and plug CN6005 back into the connector. Turn on the TV. Repeat.
• If the TV shuts down at the same time and blinks 4X, replace the Main board with the light engine.
• If the TV remains on while blinking 5X, replace the Lamp unit.
b) Heat Sink temp high? Fans slow? Check for 8Vdc fan run voltage at the 4 rear board fan connectors, pin 3.
Suspect: Light Engine (main board), or the Lamp Assembly, or blocked ventilation.
Troubleshooting:
1. Press pwr on. If +26Vdc is high at CN151 (red wires), replace the lamp (RF Amp) power supply.
2. Measure the temperature of the lamp assembly heat sink (at the thermal fuse – see layout diagram).

Red LED blinks, 5X (no lamp communications)
Symptom: Fans turn. Audio OK. Picture may be normal brightness or the screen is Dark (No lamp lit).
Cause: 1) No communications between the TV micro and the Lamp block micro, or 2) +26Vdc is missing
from CN151, or 3) Lamp assembly is bad (communications defect).
Suspect: Power supply board, Main Bd. + Light Engine, Lamp Block, or RFamp Pwr Supply.
Troubleshooting:
1. Replace the lamp power supply (RF Amp Pwr Supply) of + 26Vdc is not present at CN151/red wire
and 120Vac is input the board at CN1.
2. If data is present at CN6005/pin 7, replace the Main board w optics. Use a DVM set to AC scale to
measure the data at power on.
3. If the signal at CN6005/pin 1 is present at power on, replace the Lamp Assembly. If there is No
data at CN6005/pin 1, replace the Main board. CN6005/pin 1 data is difficult to see on a DVM.

Red LED blinks 8X, 9X, 10X, or 11X (no fan)

Suspect: One of the 4 fans, Rear Jack Board or the Light Engine (with Main Bd.)
Troubleshooting:
1. Replace the fan that is not spinning, if there is at least 5Vdc (fan supply voltage) at pin 1 of the dead fan.
2. Measure the voltage at pin 3 of each fan connector (CN2751-4). If one is not 0Vdc, replace that fan even
if it is spinning. The Opt Fan (CN2754) is part of the light engine. 3. If all pin 3’s are 0Vdc (normal), change
the Main board if CN3501/pin 29 is 2.8Vdc or higher. If lower than 2.8Vdc replace the Rear board.

Suspect: Main Bd. And Rear Bd. Connectors are not connected or one is bad.
Troubleshooting:
1. If CN3501 looks connected to the main board, measure the voltage at pin 29. Replace the rear board
only if the voltage is 3.3Vdc. Replace the main board if the voltage is 2.8Vdc (normal) or 0Vdc. Before
replacing a board, check the connectors (CN3500 & CN3501) on both boards for bent pins.
