Modified GRF 1-29: The orgins of synthesis

Posted on March 20, 2014 by Maxim Peptide

Modified GRF 1-29 was originally named tetrasubstituded GRF 1-29,
a descrition for the 29 amino acids in the etide that were deri!ed
from the growth hormone releasing hormone or G"R"# $ecifically
modified GRF 1-29 is an altered !ersion of the etide that is
de!eloed from the shortest ortion of growth hormone releasing
hormone that is fully functional# This is %nown in scientific circles as
growth hormone releasing factor 1-29 which is abbre!iated to GRF
for the sa%e of simlicity# This hormone is also sold under the name
sermorelin#
This etide was de!eloed as a way to control growth hormone in
the body of animals# Growth hormone can ha!e a !ariety of effects
on the body of the test sub&ects which are deendent on the different
etides that it comes into contact with as it is released#
'reating synthetic etides can allow scientists to get a better feel for
how these hormones wor% and the effects that they can de!elo by
encouraging growth hormone to interact with different chemicals in
animals# Modified GRF 1-29 wor%s by increasing the roduction of
growth hormone by binding to the recetor cells of the anterior
ituitary to encourage this de!eloment#
(asics of the )etide
Modified GRF 1-29 is de!eloed to mimic the structure and effects of growth hormone releasing hormone but it has
been slightly altered to encourage stability when it is alied to animal tissue or encouraged to mo!e through the
blood stream of an animal test sub&ect#
The biology of the modified GRF 1-29 chemical structure was based on the ** G"R" amino acid chains that
are biologically acti!e in animal tissue#
The issue with this etide is that the natural !ersion that is de!eloed by the body has a half-life which is less
than 1+ minutes and can dro as low as , minutes in most conditions#
The !ery low half-life of natural !ersions of G"R" ma%e it difficult for roducts that are designed to mimic the
function of this chemical to sustain a shelf life or interact with chemicals in a measurable way during research,
which has caused roblems for researchers#
-n order to combat the roblems associated with the short half-life of GHRH, modified GRF 1-29 was altered in its
structure so that it can better suit the needs of the researchers that are wor%ing with it#
To create this structure the amino acids at the 2, ., 1, and 2/ lace were relaced to create higher yields# This has
e0anded the half-life of the roduct to u to 1+ minutes when it is e0osed to an animal2s blood stream, allowing it
to create a higher alication of growth hormone in test sub&ects#

3rigins of the Modified G"R" $ynthesis
Research has focused on the first 29 amino acids on the growth hormone releasing hormone chain because they
were found to be &ust as otent on their own as they are when they are combined with the full ** amino acid chain
that the body roduces naturally#
The fragment that has come to be %nown as GRF 1-29 has a raid metabolic clearance which was synthesi4ed
to hel to enhance biologic acti!ity, increasing the seed that an animal2s body mo!ed through metabolic
clearance#
The forms of GRF 1-29 were largely created by ta%ing amino acids found in the original G"R" chain were
substituted with amino acids that had an increased resistance to the en4ymatic clea!age that naturally occurs in
an animal2s system#
5arly forms substituted 6-alanine in the second osition of the 29 amino acid chain because this chemical could act
as an otical isomer# 7-alanine has also been used for this urose#
$ubstituting these chemicals creates a etide bond at the third amino acid in the asartic acid structure between
7-alanine and the other chemicals which heled to increase the clea!age from dieitdyl etidase-* amino acids
which in re!ious e0eriments has caused the etide fragment to be inacti!e#
The first tetrasubstitued GRF 1-29 was studied in detail in 2++, in a study of etide structured# The term in this
writing was basically used to describe a chain that had been used to ma%e the substitutions mentioned abo!e# (y
2++. researchers at 7at(true coined the term modified 8GRF 1-29 to describe the etide structure that is
discussed ublically today#
